Snowed in Steamboat last night 5 inches in the valley a foot on the mountains had to get up on the pass and ski. Good cover everywhere on the pass.

They're not saying,at least to the local newspaper. There's supposed to be another storm coming tomorrow night. You don't need lifts to enjoy one run a day, just skins.
"The Steamboat Ski Area opens Nov. 22, which is Scholarship Day. Lift tickets are $15, and all proceeds go to the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club’s scholarship fund. Season passes are not valid on Scholarship Day." That first day makes bumps in the trees by noon. If the snow's good get up early.

Ok, but if you were to hazard a guess based on previous years and current coverage ?

A lot can happen between today and Wednesday... so if I were to hazard a guess, something will be open, it will have some snow on it, and you can ski on it.

Lift tickets are $15.

Seriously, is this a local special only or can us wyominites drive down and enjoy this as well?

Not a local special, everyone pays $15, even if you have a pass... opening day is always scholarship day, which benefits the winter sports club.

Not a great snow year so far,it looks like a fairly limited number of runs will be open for Scholarship Day opening day this year. But the $15 pass will still bring out a crowd.

as of talks yesterday looks like just lower mountain will be open (i.e. the vagabond-eagles nest human slalom and headwall)... trying to open Storm by friday, but that all depends on temps this week.

It's dumping with blizzard conditions right now here, tomorrow will be a powder day unless it blows through too fast.http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/images/misc/progress.gif
I should say powder stump and rock day.

Good powder today, and with so few people the limited open terrain still offered fresh tracks until about 11:00 AM. The little amount of tree skiing available without jumping a rope was sweet and safe. Much more snow is needed for a decent X-Mass season.

Opened upper Shadows and Closet today in at least 2 feet of recent powder.
