tomorrow's the big day - surgery to repair my torn rotator cuff from my lovely Superman impression off my mt bike in September. Not too worried - sounds like they know how to manage the pain these days. I get a pain catheter in my shoulder till Friday, and then I have the ingenious CryoCuff (a portable water cooler thing that hooks up to a cuff over your shoulder for cold and compression). And then of course, there will be lots of drugs :D .
meanwhile, I'll pretty much have molly bolts (?) in my shoulder holding the tendons together. Between that and the screw that's already in my foot, I'm turning into Ace Hardware. ;)
so...next time you see me I might be all good and doped up and typing with one hand. (they need a little icon for the drugged up state of being). Weeeee!
Since I won't be able to, go out git some for me. Thanks for some of the funnest turns in Tahoe. Hope the powder keeps piling up for y'all, and I'll be back out there next season ready to kick your asses with my new bionic shoulder!

Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
I'm bummed that we didn't get a chance to make some turns together this season, but there's always hope for another tequila chugging contest :D

Good luck!
I'm a perfect candidate for the same surgery, but I'm waiting until after ski season. In the meantime I wake myself up in intense pain on a regular basis. :(
Let us know how it goes. I want to hear a minute-by-minute pain journal. :D

We can rebuild her. We have the technology.
We have the capability to make the world's first Bionic maggette.
watersnowdirt will be that maggette. Better than she was before.
Better . . . stronger . . . faster.

Good luck. I'm not envious. I hate getting operated on, although in the long run it is better.
Best of luck to you WSD and a speedy recovery! I'm sure you'll be back under the table in no time.;)
Oh, molly = chromoly, the same metal that some, if not most, of your bike is made from.

It can't be bargained with.
It can't be reasoned with.
It doesn't feel pity,
or remorse,
or fear,
and it absolutely will not stop
EVER,
until you are dead!
It's the Cyberdyne Systems WSD-1000!

You're getting a Pain Buster - basically a 72 hour drip of meds directly into your shoulder. You'll feel fine. As soon as you get out of surgery (you're going under right?), tell them you have a headache. They'll give you drugs immediately. Don't forget to go to the bathroom totally naked like I did.

thanks, all for the good wishes. Hope to see/meet many of you at the Summit, where I'll try to at least serve as resident party planner since I won't be on the hill!

Good Luck WSD!
I'll be having the same thing after the ski season is over, I've had 2 cortisone shots in the past week in preparation for the mini.
Keep us posted on the progress.
