So I had surgury about a month ago, everything seems like it went well. But now I am not sure, I have had a weird nerve or tendon felling in my hand above where some of my many(four ) I.V attempts were done. Does anyone know what might be up? Are they related at all? Stories or info please.

Where was the surgery and what did they do?
Also... what does if feel like? Is it numb, tingling, pain, etc.? Is the 'weird' sensation in a very localized area or is spread out over a large area? What makes is better / worse?

OK the surgury was on my leg so I don't think it would be directly related to the surgury butmaybe to the IV attempts. When they tried to put in the IV each time til it actually worked it was probably the most pain I've ever felt in my hand.
So now the sensation and some times pain I feel is centered between my index and bird flippin' fingers radiating down to the center of my hand. All on the non-palm side. Feels like thetendon pops over and then a weird nerve sensation of pain or tingling.

I had the same thing after one of my trips to the OR. You should be ok in a couple of weeks. Also when doing a hand line for an IV it is possible/common for this to happen. Most likely they had to tap your had a few times to get the champagne hit (are you a smoker?).
Now Vinman and the other Docs in here will tell you what they think about your symptoms. But 99% of the time it is we nurses that tap the intervenous vessels. If it goes on much longer then yes see a Doctor. But you should be ok.

To be honest I don't know what that could be I don't have any experience with IVs or injuries that could occurs from having one.
Sorry.
Maybe the nurse hit a nerve attempting to do the IV?

Thanks TJ, and just to let you know I'm not a smoker and I normally have very promenent veins. I don't know if I was cold or what, I do know that my heart rate was nice and low and maybe that affected it.
