Hi,

When I first signed up with TGR, I wasn't really thinking about staying aroung for the long term and so picked a random user name after getting frustrated at all the ones I initially tried being taken.

Then I went skiing with some of the people here and now I'm hooked. I'm here for the long term. So I'd like to change my name to "RobW" (my real name and first letter of surname).

Can this be done somehow? I could sign up with a new name, but I want to keep my sign up date and post history.

I think you have to get pretty snuggly with Frozen or ONS to put in a request like that. It's been done...but, why change your name? DerJaeger is way more interesting than RobW, no offense to your real name. Stick it out, man.

This post made no sense. My name is David, hi!

I would do anything to change my name to something, which does not intonate that my first name is David.
Intonate?

intonate, intone (http://www.wordreference.com/definition/intone)
speak carefully, as with rising and falling pitch or in a particular tone; "please intonate with sadness"

Just think of it as a gift that you weren't named "bio-smear" at birth....

Probably requires a reach around.

You have got to be fucking kidding.

I started here as ScottG 'cuz I was a lame ass internet virgin. After much harrasment, the maggots convinced me that I needed a name that was a wee bit more inspiring than Seldon, Bob, or RobW.

Its like the days of Citizens Band radio. You need to have a proper "handle" to be respected.

Maybe you should change to John Q. Pubic.

Point taken about the 'interestiness' of the name. I guess as much as anything else, I simply liked the idea of sacking up and putting my real name out there for better or worse.

If I had to do it again, I'd pick a simpler one-word name that's easier to remember and pronouce.

I haven't practiced yoga in about a year, after 18 years of practice (thanks to an injury), so no longer live up to my screename. Was thinking of changing mine too. I feel like a hypocrite with this name...

There, I said it. I feel better now

Sack up and register with a new name. If you say something stupid and people yell "JONG" thats because you said something stupid.

Take it from a guy who registered the same month as you. Our tenures here are not impressing anyone.

Nah. I'm keeping mine. The maggots have spoken: real names are boring.
