It was a day to enjoy some great piste skiing, practice linking pow turns, and tripping between CH and FR on skis. Best thing was the amount of elbow room to be had at all ski stations.
itinerary: Torgon CH ->Chapelle FR ->Torgon -> Chatel FR -> Torgon -> Chapelle -> and finally back to Torgon.
weather: partly cloudy and snow showers, visibility 200+ metres.
groomers had a hard packed pow base with 5cm of fresh on top. Steep and fast.
off-piste: when you could find untracked, 10 - 15cm.
In Torgon and Chapelle the choice of pistes is limited but very good quality wide and long runs. Not a lot of long off-piste runs to be had. Best bowl skiing was over in Chatel, FR.
Torgon is neatly packed into 4 or 5 pinched canyons. Great views to be had at the Alpes scenery. Looks like a great place for randonee and day hikes in the summer. Lots of rock scrambling opportunities.
Next powder day I am hitting it again.

Yep Torgon and Champoussin are pretty flat
just check out the faces that end in Morgins valley accesible by Chatel
the other rad place are the couloir from Avoriaz down to les Crozets
any1 coming over here just tell it so we share few turns...

Yeah, Les Crosets provides a lot of choices.
Personally, one of my fav areas is the where Champoussin and Les Crosets come together. Off the Pointe de l'Au chairs, skier's left, right, and down to the col du PDS provide great variety of terrain.
Faces off Morgin valley look great, never done them. Do they require a hike over the ridges/mountains from Chatel Linga (using TS Linga 2) ?
Another fav is start at Les Crosets to Avoriaz then hit Linga (Plaine Dranse & Cornebois areas).
Anyway, the point is PDS has a wide variety of terrain and lots and lots of choices. I have the season pass and have 20+ days on it already. This Weds - Les Gets!

Hi guys
I know it may be not fare to say this
but please, you can tell any thing about PDS wich is no secret
but If you still want to find some fresh untracked powder in some cool place like C....... better not tell the name
it is one of the last rad place so better be discret about it
don't you think ?!!
no need to hike to get to those faces....

we should plan a ride together and share secret spots then. i normally just work my way around from the swiss side - les crosets, chavanettes, avoriaz, les lindarets, champoussin, then back to les crosets. i'd love to break out of my normal routine and find some new spots. actually, i'm kind of bored with PDS right now so some new spots would be great!
looks like the snow is arriving big time now! if you ever want to come over to the swiss side, just shout and i'll show you where i go. this season, i seem to be liking super st bernard, champex, and (hopefully soon) the comb d'audon in glacier3000 (les diablerets).
