So i have been hunting for the MHW EV 2 tent now for a while, without finding any groundbreaking deals.
Like 570 USD has been the cheapest from the states, but the prob is that i have to pay so much taxes and stuff if i order it to here, scandinavia.
The european offerings have been just abysmal...
One european website (www.theoutdoorshop.com)
from the uk just decided to start downright insulting and yelling at me when i asked if they could ship the tent outside uk...
Maybe the weirdest "customer service" thing i have ever encounterd...Fuckers...
Is there any other places in europe where they sell MHW tents?
Have checked out the usuall cham3s, etc...
Any help would be appreciated...And if some US mags now any places that sell them for dirt cheap, well, let me know!

Well, if you're not fixated on EV2, you can get Outdoor Designs Summit Extreme for 200 £ from Outdoorshop (I think, can check the source from my email if the need arises) and they do deliver to Finland as well.
I've been pretty happe with it's big brother (Summit), which is just a tad heavier and higher... Sadly you have to buy the porch as an extra (but then again, you can leave it at the car, if there is no need for it during the trip).
Oh, have you tried PlanetFear, I think they sell MHW as well and might be able to wiggle you one (at a reasonable price, they are pretty friendly peops).

Aww, i am fixated to the ev2. Just sold my old MHW trango assault just to get this. Just heard raves from friends and unknowns.I need a light, singlewall tent that is a über bomber and easier to put up that trango.
There are couple others that are close,but...well, i have spent enough nights (nightmarish) in tents that no substitutes anymore.
:)

Dang,but no. No tents..
Have found only them in about two places (and that fucking outdoorshop..),and with a 700€+ pricetag.
Pity that summitsports aint working as it did anymore...used to have decent -20-50% reductions there...
Edit: Blurghs..

Yep, truly sad about summit...
I hear, the new owners opened it again, sadly I think I also lost the discout factor...
Better buy a ubercheap flight to the states and order the tent to your hotel...

I'm going to be driving from the UK to Stryn, Norway in June. If you want I can take delivery of a tent and drive it over then post it to you. Shipped from inside Scandinavia - does that avoid the taxes? Or, better still, you could come and ski and pick the tent up.
BTW The Summit Extreme that hemas posted is a screaming deal.

This is exactly what I did - albeit to Casa Tri-Ungulate rather than a hotel. Cost <50% of the UK retail.

No taxes or customs inside the EU (UK to FIN)... Sadly Norway is not in the EU, so shipping from NO to FIN could end with stuupid customs hassle... (not likely though, atleast from my experience of shipping some stuff there and back).
As for that Summit Extreme, well it is a really good one, so I looked up and it was indeed Outside, not outdoors... Here's the link:

Sadly I'll be at Stryn a bit earlier... Have fun, I'll try to post a few pics, or something.

Thanks for the offer,Mullet!
I will ask around, a lot of friends are coming to stryn. If they could pic it up.
I am getting under the knife within a week, so no skiing here for few months... :(
Btw, do you know if you are going there at the end of the month or when?
Have one friend in london, just checking out if he could buy the tent for me...even if outdoorshops service sucks donkey balls, that tent is cheap.
370 pounds..
Thanks for the link, hemas, i will check the tent out, although the pole and "vestibule" desing looks a bit intresting...
And 200 quids aint bad.
Just suprising that you cant find european webstores after 5 hour search..
Like nobody sells them?

I don't think most of the singlewall mountaineering-tents are that popular in the alps... And those guys who use 'em a lot, often are already spancered so getting the tent aint that difficult.
Oh, which ever tent you get. Get a groundsheet... atleast the floor on my Summit isn't that thick and it could get damaged pretty fast if you happen to set up the tent on big gravel/rocks.
As for the porch, well I haven't had the change to put it under a real test but it worked well enough the few nights I tested it back home...
I used just the tent in real conditions and it has performed really well, naturally having just two poles makes it less sturdy than the EV2 but it holds up well enough for my use (plus it's pretty low profile & slim so the wind doesn't really pic it up nor does snow accumulate on top).

Thanks for the info, shame.Yeah, still have the old ground sheet left.
I have used (and destroyed) few tents in my life...
It´s just that you learn to appreciate the good things.Like, that they dont commit suicides, like some halti and terranovas have done..
The trango assault was very good but getting it up in shitty weather was a bit cumbersome and miserable,so now trying to go the 1-ply way.
IF i manage to find one without going bankrupt, that is.
