Yeah, the beauty of the P1 bikes is that you can get crazy with paint adne end up with something that should be pretty damn close to one of a kind. I wanted something very dark but with some pop. The flame pattern they offer is to cliche. I like the radonmness of this one far more.

What blows me away is that it was exactly 21 days from order to delivery. That's pretty smoove.

Lloyd, with the crappy saddle and no pedals it was running about 17 at the shop. It's a 58cm frame. I could easily cut another pound out of it but there's really no need.

Nice. We have a couple of other paint schemes on P1's at our shop. I thought the white and light blue bubbles, like yours, was pretty cool.

ps: If anyone is looking for a Madone 5.5 (2005) we have them on sale for $3100 right now. I think we have full size runs left too. The only hitch is someone needs to come pick it up for you and ship it out to you.

first ride of the year today. Went our after PT and put in 2 hours on the lakefront. 70 degrees and windy...perfect to get some wattage work in. So plush compared to the Yeti and still so quick. I think I'm in love.

FYI: Specialized Alias saddles are the bomb as are Hincapie Power Bib's.

sweet bike. Its finally warm enough in VT to get on the roads. Tomorrow will be my first outdoor ride of the season.

T - less than 3 month until 1/2 iron.

That's impressive Vin. I know I'm going to be pushing my limits to be ready for the international distance at the Chicago Tri. It'll be close in regards to the run distance on my knee and achilles. Training is going to be very touchy. I'll survive the swim and the bike will be a snap but that run could be the end of me.

How's the achillies coming anyway?

I've been killing it in the pool. I have my mile time down to 31 min in the pool. I think I can shave that down to 29 or 30 min in openwater with the wetsuit on.

My run been lagging a bit since the shin injury a few weeks ago up at jay peak. But now that it is warm out things will start coming along.

It's on track. Today I ran a 10 minute mile after doing 3 sets (100 reps) of single leg calf raises and then after PT felt good enough to put in 2 hours on the bike. That was first time a ran on it with the leg not being "fresh". I need to build more strength in the calf, but that's just a matter of time.

My swim is non existant right now but I just got back in the pool this week for the first time since August. I should be able to get that back in 8 weeks though if I just stay on it. Cool thing is I'll have access to open water for wetsuit swims this summer at my brothers new lake house. I should be able to to get in 2 race distance open water swims a week.

Sounds like you're doing pretty good.

I just got back from a 20 mile ride and a 2 mile run brick workout. Not bad for the first time riding and running outside. I hit some strong winds on the bike but thats the way it is in VT in the spring.

This was also the first time out on the foreward seat post I put on my bike and I think I need to do some adjusting but other than that not bad.

hijack: anyone ever do the custom fitting thing for a roadbike? not just the shop guy doing it, but going to a guy who makes his living doing that? if so was it worth it.

I've done it and it's worth it. Don't know about SoTahoe area, but I bet if you ask a Reno-area shop where the racers go you might get a reference or two.

There's an article about a guy in Boise who does killer bike fits. I have it somewhere in a box.

Thanks LPH, I'm so pleased with the way the bike turned out. The Project One option is pretty cool.

Getting fit is the key to roadie happiness, just like getting your boots fit for skiing. The difference is night and day. I'll be going in for a session with the new whp in the coming weeks. I just wanted to get a few hundred miles on it so I have an idea of what feels good. Right now my stem is too high and too long and it's forcing me forward on the saddle (which i believe is just about right). I just got back from a 2 hour ride and even though i'm not dialed in I feel 100% better than I would have on my Yeti. I got that bike uber broi deal while in college nad the framwas just too small for me so we hade to force it to fit. I suffered for 10 years like that. Ugh...so glad that's over.

FYI, the new Alias saddles from Specialized come in 3 widths and this has made a huge improvement in my power and comfort. My bones now rest on the saddle properly and comfortably which never happened on my old ti flite saddle.

56 cm and yeah, she's in need of a new home. It's really a special frame. Built by hand in the Durango factory. It was a bro deal frame form an employee's allocation (they got x number per year at cost) and has full custom paint. I'll be sad to see it go. It's extremely rare.
