View Full Version : Binding on Gotama

Just getting around to mounting the bindings on my Gotamas. I've the Rossi Power 140, which has a 6mm lift on it. Looking over the bindings, I see that I could mount 'em without the lift -- would just need to grind the screws down a bit and mount without the spacer.
Wondering if I should go thru the trouble, or just go as is with the supplied lift? Not like its a huge riser plate or anything -- 6mm doesn't seem to be much (a little more than the thickness of a piece of plexi-glass). Just wondering what the positives/negatives might be to mounting the binding one way or the other?
Discuss.

i just dropped mine off yesterday after searching all of LA county for the wide brake. i'm putting them on as-is, with the lifter. i don't think 6mm is really going to make all the much of a difference given the waist.

I have the little Rossi lifter on my Big Stix 106 and they ski fine - actually way better than fine - they're absolutely perfect in powder. I think that small of a lift with that binding on a really fat ski makes very little noticable difference.

Same situation - didn't really want it, but those were the bindings I had and I didn't feel like screwing with them.

On they go, then, with the 6mm lift.
I agree, it doesn't seem like this small amount of lift would be an issue with such a wide ski.
Always nice to get some maggot opinions (before I screw it up!).
Thanks.

Hmm freeride and naxo both offer ~40mm lift
