The party was off the chain last year, and we hope this one is even bigger and better. I know there are a lot of CO maggots, so if you missed last years you definetly don't want to miss this years. More info to follow as the date approaches. This is what we got so far:

Where: Arapahoe Basin Ski Resort

When: Saturday, April 29th and Sunday, April 30th

1.) Can someone secure a large area of beach front property? - Looks like that will be taken care of

2.) Who can bring a grill? - Greguar, mr. gyptian

I just joined the board and think I will definitely be there for one day (I work weekends) I'll throw in some cash to make sure they get done. The thing is, you really should place the order as soon as possible. Where can I send the money? Also having them laminated increases the quality exponentially and will increase their lifespan (I used to work at a print shop where we did stickers). There is a print shop in Denver that does short run jobs such as this. I will look them up and get a quote.

Just my opinion but I am not really feeling the Colorado sucks thing...wouldn't Colorado Steeze be better, or Colorado, steezey does it?

Just my opinion but I am not really feeling the Colorado sucks thing...wouldn't Colorado Steeze be better, or Colorado, steezey does it?

The "Colorado Sucks" is a running joke on this board since everyone bags on Colorado. Of course we all don't think CO sucks, but it's great sarcasm in a season that is one of the best in a while.

Jonski: I haven't done an actual count, but I think it's up to three now. Maybe four? Hahaha.

I'd like to hear back from Low Budget to see if we could, aproposly, do this on a lower budget (i.e. significantly less than $270 so that not 27 people have to chip in). In reference to that, LB, you don't even need to get a quote if you could just give me the name of the print shop. That could probably do.

Otherwise, I'm setting the minimum to 20 people (excluding me) to contribute to the cost. I'll adjust this number if possible, depending on the Denver print shop. I'll post more once I have more details. Meanwhile I gotta work a lot on getting a place to live next year :eek:

EDIT: HOLD OFF ON SENDING MONEY UNTIL I KNOW THAT IT'S ACTUALLY GONNA HAPPEN. SENDING THE MONEY BACK WOULD KINDA SUCK AND I'D RATHER AVOID IT (although since the CO crew does not suck I won't have to do that... Or will I? You guys decide!!!)

Strangely, I too was very very drunk when I questioned the Colorado Sucks thing. Needless to say, I am now sober and find it funny. I copied the design and sent the shops a gif of it so they would have an idea on ink coverage. I only checked with two shops and neither has gotten back to me. I will start drinking heavily and call them when I have finished my first six pack (Can't ski till March 1st tweaked leg). The quotes I submitted were on regular matte paper with gloss lamination. I think this may be cheaper than vinyl. I think the vinyl fades faster, but can certainly check on the price for vinyl. I submitted it as a 3 inch by 3 inch circle...wow I just realized thats pretty small. Maybe 4 3/4 would be better. Well I'll just give them a call.

The first place I tried just sent me their quote. Apparently the sales guy thinks I do not know anything about printing. He is trying to tell me they need to use 4 color process printing to achieve the design I submitted. This is bullshit, its a 3 color design, 185 red, black, and say 317 green, I don't have my pantone book on me so its just a guess. Well, the first of his quotes is for 451.90, this is for a vinyl sticker with UV coating. The second is for 375.17 and again this is a vinyl sticker with a different coating. I think I will start calling places and talking to people and see what I can come up with.

OK, I have to interject about the size of the sticker - 3" is way too big. I say about 2", so it can go on the helmet.

NOTE: We also need to put "www.tetongravity.com" in curved letters around the top of the sticker. I don't know how to do that in Photoshop, so someone get that done.

I overlayed FZ's design on top of the original design and resized. It was a horrible mess. I messed with it pixel by pixel for about 2 hours and this is what I have so far. Just wondering if it's worth it to continue.

I do like the flames on BZ's better though. and I think the Co Sucks could be a little bigger. The letters I did for TG.com were only 1/8th inch tall on 1.5" sticker - that looks close to the same size (?)

Max - I don't really care what we do with the sticker now. I'm in for $10 no matter what we do.

I'm sick of people fucking bitching about it - "Use the money to buy beer", "Why do we need a sticker", "It should say Maggots", "CO Sucks is overplayed", "Do this", "Do that" - JESUS CHRIST!

My advice Max - just pick a design and get it done, and if people don't like it, then who really gives a fuck. I'm just glad we are trying to do something.

Roger. Just waiting on a couple more names, then I'll send out the go ahead to send money. I will be requesting a final design in hopefully a week and the sticker will be done.

No problem, btw. Makes me feel like I'm actually contributing something other than the willingness to be depricated...

So, I leave the design up to phishshow. If you can come up with something cooler than what you already have (the one that says maggots in the other thread) by the time I go to place the order, I'll use that. Otherwise, you guys will just have to wait and see what you get. ;)

My thoughts are that 500 stickers were just ordered. They are of phishshow's "Maggots" design on the second page of this thread (maybe later for you 20-post-per-page people).

After watching Early Riser fill up on the last few Saturday/Sunday mornings I'd say that if we got 2 or 3 cars there before 7am on Saturday we should be fine with the non-pay beach front real estate. Much after 7 and those spots go quick.

Did anyone confirm for a grill? I have a hibachi, but it doesn't work too well for parties, more of a two burger gig. I would bring enough meat for me and a few others.

I'll be bringing my board as usual to ride for a bit, and will probably toss in the skis also (that I have only been on a couple times in the last ten years if anyone wants to get crazy and try a sport they are not familiar with) Molly Hogan with a keg whoot whoot. Just kidding, I can probably make it down from Lenewee a few times.

Since there are lots of maggots coming to this sucker, I wanted to see if I could get a hold of a pair of spats for a few runs. My boot sole is 308, I think. Probably won't be worth it, but I just want to see what spatulating feels like. I need (want) a superfat pow ski, and I'm looking at Spats, Made'ns with rocker, 'Toons (but have heard some nasty things about construction so those are low on the list), and--perhaps high on the list--DP Lotus 120's.

Obviously it won't be blower pow (an accurate test), but it will be better than never getting on them.

So if you would be willing to let go of those spats for a run or two, I would really appreciate it a lot. You are welcome to all the stickers your heart desires...

Try this again (sorry it’s late)….For all you heavy metal diggin’ maggots or people who want to be cool, I thought a sticker that utilized GWAR’s song “Maggots are falling, falling like rain” would be pretty kick ass. With all the sick bastard droppin’ the NAR round here, a cartoon type maggot with knifes for skis huckin’ a cliff might be fitting.

Well if not at the mini, any possibility I could give the spats a try when it would be a fair test? i.e. small early season storm that wouldn't necessitate the owner skiing on them but would give me a feel for how they perform in soft stuff?

At any rate, Marshal and I had a very deep conversation last night about the lotuses. He made them sound very nice. Made them sound like they NEED to be my principal touring setup (although I still suck so skiing couliors on them would be tough). Skiing on those at the mini might open my eyes.

I thought the made'ns with rocker were coming out within the next season...?

P.S. I miss walkmode extreme. :(

I'm 90% sure I can make the summit one of the two days, so put me on the list. If I bring my AK King Salmon's, would there be any interest in demoing? They have demo binders mounted (markers, I know, booo). It would be kind of neat to have an impromptu demo setup with all sorts of small market skis.

If needed, I got an extra CO tank and tapper set up from my keggerator and one of those little Coleman grills and cook tops (takes the 40oz sized propane tanks.) Being from Wisco, I can also prep some bratwurst and kraut.
To ensure that things get sloppy, I’ll bring a handle of Jack and Sapphire……….
Also, there’s a good chance I’ll be tending to the new bambino at 3am, so I can leave early to claim some space on the beach.
If anyone wants to carpool from the Conifer/Evergreen area shoot me a PM.
Has anyone looked into getting a place at Keystone to avoid limited exposure to the Keystone cops? I’d guess you can get a cheap room right about now.

How to get the comps:

When we arrive that morning (probably by 7:30-8 or so), GFP and I will stick the comps in an envelope marked TGR or something like that in the ski patrol first aid room, stuck to the cork board. That way no one has to try and track us down if they arrive late, since GFP will be doing the Grind and I may be going on a super-secret female mission. :)

It turns out I cant make it on saturday (thats what i get for being a music major, stupid saturday rehearsals), but I WILL BE THERE SUNDAY.
As of now I have a ride, but latley my rides have been very flaky. Are there any denverites with room going up sunday (or saturday evening), just i case?

always glad to accommodate:biggrin: . i think i'm going to fill my 50 gallon cooler with cheap shit as well as bring the keg, that way i'll have decoy beer for the non-mag masses (good karma after the will-trade-beer-for-flashlight-and/or-leatherman pilgrimage with Phish yesterday). I'm also thinking that an extra 150 beers or so will greatly contribute to the general mayhem factor.
