Monster 85's vs 4x4 Big's

Debating between a last minute purchase Head Monsters in 186cm, 85cm underfoot or the 4x4 Big's in a 188cm?

Thoughts, comparisons, anyone skied both of them? Thinking the Big's might be better for hardpack/groomers and the Monsters for the real skiing.

These will be everyday skis for out west as I will also have a real fat pair for deep days ala my other thread.

I want something a wee bit softer than the G4, not much though, and maybe a weee bit shorter than the 188cm G4 I tried in Whistler. Liked the G4 for 85% but I'm only 155lbs so would like a touch more flexibility in the shovel. No blue flippy flyers, just a little more.

rode them both last season - definetely monsters! 188 bigs (arno's) felt like... i don't know... well, nothing interesting, while monsters are powerfull bastads, able to bust crud and carve alot as well as straightline. very stable and controllable, fun at hardpack. didn't try them in pow, but as far as my arno's (bigs) were nothing interesting in powder too, i don't think that monsters will be worse.

i cant find nothing where monsters would be worse than 188 bigs. the only thing which i can consider to be bad in monsters is their short and stiff tail - not very comfortable landings, you know.

and the 188 bigs only have an 80 waist.

I was thinking the 80mm waist might be better on hardpack groomers and I will have a fatter ski for pow. I guess that's my real question for the days 2-10 after a storm, crud, groomers, hardpack, which ski would you rather have...

I have T@nkers somewhere in the Customs fucking nightmare and will buy Sugar/Tele Daddy's someday because after my experience on them in Whistler I'm in love.

I think once you ski the Tankers they will become your everyday ski. They are really versatile and are very good on 2-3 day old crud. They kinda ski like the splosives with a bigger sidecut and a way softer tip (about the top 10-15cm is soft then the ski is burly damp).

can you kinda fake your way through bumps on these beasts? or do they just roundly kick your ass?

Don't dispute that I will love the T@nkers, just need skis for the next 2 weeks and these are what I can get cheap now. My t@nkers are being held captive with all my shit from Europe. So I figured I might as well get something that is a little different and therefore more for the hardpack side of the spectrum

There are some old bigs for 250 on sportsliquidator.

When I was waiting for my V-ex to arrive, I went insane and picked up some public enemies. They are around 300, and are a good contrast to a big mountain ride -- no overlap. Something to consider.
