Summit 2006 Question

Here're some questions from the field. If some other folks have more constructive input, please reply.



When is it?

March 3-12, 2006. It's voted to be at Whistler/Blackcomb and a number of folks are stopping off in Seattle for a couple of days to ski around there.



Is there any kind of bulk lodging deals the group is looking at?

Some W/BC maggots have indicated they will be looking into this. I can line up some discounts at a lodge at Crystal, but I need 25 people to commit and I bore of herding cats.



Other than normal browsing of airline prices does anyone have any airline hookups out of Reno?

Not to my knowledge.



I can't afford a rental car, how difficult is transportation from the airport up there to the resort?

I think it's pretty easy. There's a bus that goes regularly. Do a search on it on tetongravity and the info will come up.



Any help with any of those would be great and any other info I should know since I've never been to a summit yet would be awesome.



Be prepared to ski and party, be flexible and a good time will be had.

Any locals coordinating midweek HH's? Just name a place and date and people will show. Just don't pick a loud, extremely crowded place. I loved the Beav at Kwood and Frozen's Superbowl shindig last year :D

Also, what lift at what time? Prolly alternate between Whistler and Blackcomb with days, no? Any BC plans? I have the gear this year, can't wait to use it! Was bummin' last year at JH.

I think it's this forum. Seriously. I never check in here...and totally forgot about this thing. Maybe post a note in the main forum from time to time.

Mtn. Man -- The Beav @ Kirkwood = RIP. The owner sold it to KW last year and it's been renamed the Blue Moon Cafe or something stupid like that. Haven't been in yet though to see what sort of changes there may have been.

Cheap plane tickets + la nina + seattle and whistler = shmerham's most likely going.

I think I'm going to fly in late sunday night. Is there any solid plan for monday, tuesday, and wednesday? Is everyone staying at crystal and skiing there for 3 days?

I think what I'd probably do if I fly in sunday night is get a car and stay at a cheap hotel or stay at an airport hotel. Will there be people heading from seattle to an area resort monday morning?

I should save this till I'm sure I'm going, but I'll be looking to share a place to stay with someone (some people) during the week.

I think some folks are staying in town and driving up every day. I'll be up @ Crustal for the Mon-Wed.
