They probably could be, but Seattle stole it for themselves, those ungrateful bastages. On the other hand, the radio told me I should love them, so I'll try and do my best to conform to Clear Channel.

Just kidding, Jimmy Eat World has some most excellent songs, but emo is ussually synonomous with whinny meodramatic boring crap. Punk minus everything good in punk.

Actually I did happen to be driving around the other day when a Death Cab song came on the radio, and I had to ask my friend, "People really like this?" His explanation was that people are looking for anything folk-like right now. Dunno about that.

I have a question, do you guys consider bands like The Shins or the Weakerthans emo? If so then there is definitly some good emo, although i can't stand that name, the fucking WEAKERTHANS. Definitly doesn't fit thier sound.

I saw this thread yesterday before my commute home from work, and my wife left the cd in my car, so I decided to pop this cd in and give it a whirl.....

I'm pretty critical when it comes to music, and basically enjoy any type of music as long as its produced well (just ask Greydon Clark)...but this disc was pretty lackluster. I sampled every song, and could not find one track that I'd like to listen to again. My final words: It makes Bloc Party seem like heavy metal.
