Got in late last Thurs and only saw a few brownish pockets of blow-in around the rocks in Central Park South. Pretty much nobody out and really bony conditions.

By Sunday it started to dump pretty good and we got a total of about 4-5 inches of somewhat gloopy snow. Some of those stoops on the brownstones were tricky. We navigated a bunch of 3-5 floor walk-ups and saw some promising, if very small, stuff.

After looking at lots and lots of places, we finally found decent digs that satisfied 90% of our needs.

Of course, Dexter had to call me at my hotel in the middle of this and try to get me to go to Vermont with him. I thought I saw smoke coming off of Mrs Chair as I contemplated the offer.

We will be heading East after Jan 7 and will hopefully be able to stop for one or two ski days on the trip. We will move in on Jan 15-16. I might be able to squeak in Mammy trip before Jan 7, but I might have to go back to NYC and work for a week or so.

Thanks to Dex for the advice etc.

There's some decent BC in Central Park if you are willing to look... some nice hits over behind the Guggenheim... ;)

Come on RT, the Bronx is where it's at! Van Cortland/Riverdale area is filled with gnarly lines, just gotta wait till mid season when the snow fills in

Dude, how about the tram that goes to Roosevelt Island? The lineup is huge on a powder day.

Do you have to access the BC via gates?
