Alright, Hello.

I just picked up some teneighties out of the free bin at the local ski swap, with extremely minor base damage. They are too small for everyday stuff, but they seem like a fun rock/jib ski for icy or crappy days. They are in a 151. The previous owner painted them... I think it is spraypaint, black and silver if it makes a difference. I was wondering if there was a possible way to remove the paint w/o taking off the topsheet. I was looking at using mineral spirits, but wondering if that may be too harsh on the topsheets, or not be able to take the paint off. Any suggestions?

thanks

Dip 'em in acid.

Well, I've removed paint on a ski with nail polish remover and some scotchbrite pads. Dab some remover on the ski with a cottonball and let sit for a few, then soak the scotchbrite pad in the remover and get scrubbin. You will dull the "finish" of the ski (millions of small scratches), so then just spray paint some clearcoat on them and they will look better.

Oh, and open the garage door for fresh air every once in a while.
