binder mounting bolt torque

I've got warranty replacement on my binders, so all I have to do is fasten the new ones to my planks.

Is there a recommended torque value for the binder bolts that someone can throw out for me?

I'd like to know 'cause I'm one of those individuals that always seems to overtighten fasteners when I put something back together and I don't want to strip any of those phukkers out. I can understand getting a feeling for it after doing it many times, but this is the first time so I'd like to have an actual torque value to work with.

I don't think you can actually have an acurate torque measurement, due to the hundreds of different topsheets, plates, etc, that bindings go into. Easy way is to use a drill with a clutch, set it to a light setting, and finish by hand.:confused:

Thanks CD. That answer is better than none at all. I was pretty sure it might be different for metal/non-metal sheet skis, etc...

I guess since the holes have already had screws in them once, I'll turn them in by hand until they bottom-out and then give another little nudge to make sure they stay put.

Elmer's white glue (or nothing at all) seems to be what some of the tech's are using for thread prep. Any reason why I shouldn't use that also?

That's fine, you are just trying to create a seal to keep moisture out, which isn't nearly as important with todays skis as it was in years past. Snug and then a little more on the screws and you should be fine.
