this is my first post and im already asking for advice.. am i allowed to do that? can i take first.. give back later?

i was hoping to get info on sizing for salomon boots particularly the malamutes.. what i really want to know is how much i can expect them to pack out after a few days of riding.. when i tried them on in the store (9.5's) my feet definitely press against the ends of the boot. its more than just touching, theres some pressure. theres no curling but it wouldnt be comfortable to ride with. but when i flex the boot my toes pull away enough and it feels the way i think its supposed to.. if anyone has experience with these boots, does this sound like the boot is too small? or will they break in a 1/4 size or so and be my new best friends? ive been getting contradicting advice from the shops (wont pack out at all vs. will pack out almost a full size) so whos right?

also wondering if anyone has used/tested salomon snowboard bindings and what your take is on them..

thx in advance if youre able to share any info...

I have a pair of Malamutes and I found they worked best if you ordered them a half size too big. When you get home, put them in the deep freeze. Sounds crazy, I know, but it works. They'll shrink down the full half size in all dimensions and then they'll fit perfectly and the furry lining will be prevented from colostating. The binding it works best with is the Salomon Scaramanga XLR Freeride 'Everton Blender' signature edition.

They do pack out a little, plenty for how it sounds like they fit you now. Do you ride without your boots flexed?

I think you've got the perfect fit. Mine were the same when I first started using them. Three or four days and they should be dialed. If you still feel like you need more space check to see if there's a spacer under the footbed you can remove.

I concur with the Grizz. Make sure you heat the liners up, they'll pack out a bunch just from that. If you ride a lot, you'll be psyched you got the bigger size after 4-5 days.

appreciate the comments grizz and DS.. i have the boots now and wore em around my apt for a while figuring i could exchange em but i believe i made the right choice with the 9.5's.. stiff friggin boot! that def threw me off the first time i tried em on and i just wanted some reassurance that i was sizing them correctly so thank you
