Altachic, Skiguide and Buzzworthy have gotten this together for your pleasure and for the pure fact of being in the "know" of what's going on, where we'll be, when and some of the events that we're looking forward to.


Friday Feb 10th-Some will be skiing the bird and others Alta. We will ALL be meeting at Goldminers at the base of Wildcat at the end of the day...meaning you can find all of us there by 4:30-4:45pm. (Buzz may be there earlier). We'll be upstairs at the bar or outside shootin' the shit after skiing High Boy with Xover. Team 13 and TETON GRAVITY RESEARCH has generously kicked in some Schwagg to raffle at GMD on Friday, so be there is you want to get your hand on their goods.

***We then head to SOMEONE'S PLACE (TBA) for some good times, drunkeness, craziness, hopefully even some nakedness. Make sure you have blankets/sleeping bags too, as we are rounding up as much warmth as we can. Any Utards who can help offer blankets/Bags, please bring em Friday with you to the mountain.

Discount Tickets: Alta said no. Snowbasin we are still holding our breath. Snowbird told me no too. So we are looking at the sport shops for a few bucks off.

Yes, Irul is correct. It will be an Alta camp during that time, however it is his only Alta camp this year and will be a regular camp as opposed to a "Maggot special" camp.

It is not on his site yet, but contact him if you plan to enroll, as there are only so many spaces Stroup.

Thanks Buzz- I think we will base camp at the Best Western in Sandy- it looks like the best non-ski resort option. I need a hot-tub and pool. Breakfast is always good too.

Well, you have to have a signed permission slip from your parents if you want to go on this field trip! ;)

I25 North to Fort Collins, cut off 14W to 287N to Laramie to I80 W, will save you 45 minutes normally.


Maybe if you drive 287 at 80mph (65mph posted).....beware colorado maggots...you ft. collins people know this, but wy287 is a nasty bitch if the weather is shitty. Very bad juju surrounding that road...I avoid it at all costs unless it's summer time and during the day.

287 is a heavy traffic 2 lane (by my wyoming standards) and will only save you 10min vs taking the I-25 to I-80 through Cheyenne....thats a timed fact, if you average 5mph over speed limit on both roads....granted if the weather is that bad, Happy Jack summit just outside of laramie will be bad, but not nearly as bad as 287 usually.

at 80mph average, from denver, taking I-25 and I-80, and one 30 min stop, your looking at 5.5 hours from Denver to Green River. From GR it's 2.5 hours to BCC/LCC at 80mph with no stopping.

Just wanted to let anyone who is flying into SLC know that if you book your flight on Expedia, you get all kinds of lift ticket options. For my trip in January, I bought the 3 out of 7 day Canyons pass for $130. For my tentative trip for the Mini (depends on things), I have a 3 out of 7 day Alta/Bird/Solitude pass for $117. There's also a discounted 4/7 pass and offers for Deer Valley and for PC.

is that if you are underage AND drinking at any party hosted by a maggot, you WILL NOT, under any circrumstances, be allowed to do anything stupid like driving - cause then we'd be responsible if something happens. of course that holds true for any of age maggot as well.

I'm sitting in the Goldminer's Daughter waiting on a buddy of mine who got split up from the group. We just drove down from N Idaho last night and got in around noon and are wondering if we can use the good Idaho beer we brought with us to rent some floor space?

That said we'll be skiing all day Wednesday/Thursday... I'll be in black TNF pants and a dark green Arc'teryx Sidewinder with a black Giro fuse helmet. Skiis will be Armada AR5s or Black Diamond Crossbows with Freerides.

Am working on acquiring as many 1/2 price vouchers for soli sat. At the least I should be able to use preseason days@ a rate of $30 somethin a day.
The wife and I tour twin lakes or silverfork every Sun. if people don't want to road trip and give big Earl any $$$. Not that the basin isn't a fun place to visit. Will probably be touring Mon. Tues. has been my day to tour long if anybodies up for a slog.

I agree, Brighton rocks. But Brighton is usually a total crowded cluster on Saturdays, whereas Solitude is typically far less crowded on weekends than Brighton.

BobMc’s usual meeting place is the Eagle lift. Although the Eagle lift may not be the most convenient place to meet it is still probably the best. If you have your tickets in advance then it is easy to get to (since you can park near it), but if you have to buy your tickets in the morning then you will have a little bit of a slide from the Moonbeam Center to the lift – still not much of a problem. Meeting in the Village (at the Powderhorn lift) would be great, but there is limited parking there. Regardless of where the first meeting place is, it might be a good idea to have a second meeting place at the Summit lift later in the morning since that is where the goods are. 10:00 at the Summit lift would work well.

See you all tomorrow. We hit Snowbird today, and it was really fun. The snow isn't the greatest, but it was a really really fun day all around. Went to the GMD afterwards from about 4:30 to 6:00. Just wanted to apologize for slacking on all the festivities. PrincessGruntyPuffs had a job interview go very well on the first day out there and she accepted the offer on the spot. Skiing took somewhat of a back seat to an urgent house hunting expedition which ended with us putting up an offer on a place in Sandy about 2 miles from the mouth of LLC. We're rolling out in just over two weeks so hopefully we'll get the chance to meet a lot of you when we get settled. Link to a few pics of the place.
