Last I heard from the Dynastar rep was that the Legend Pro was a 186 with a 97mm waist. Race-room construction and fully handcrafted. $1200 retail.

$1,200 MSRP for a ski is L-A-M-E.

Serisouly,
I CANNOT imagine anyone needing a ski that is any bigger, stiffer or fatter then the 194 legend pro. The combo of length, stiffness and width makes this ski so bomber. Maybe fatter if it was softer, maybe stiffer if it was shorter, but with what dynastar dialed this ski to, I couldnt ask (or ski) for anymore ski. Skied them about 10 days so far, 5 have been pow, have not come very close to a top speed, and they chew up crud, groomers, and hold and edge like a freking freight train. I picked up a pair for $400, btw... $1,200 is ludicrous...
Me= 190#, 6'0.

I asked for a pair but they said only 10 in Can for the season and they are keeping them for the poster boys. Maybe April one could be available.

I've been riding the Spatulas for the last couple days, but teamdirt was in town and he loaned me his 194 Legend Pros for a few laps. Sick, sick ski, and I'm in love with it. I'm ordering a pair tomorrow. The Spatulas are fun, but the Legend's ownerize the mountain.

So again....is the 194 Legend Pro just last year's 194 Super Nobis with an orange top sheet? Or have the dimensions changed?

These skis sound pretty cool. I'm happy about it becuase I just heard I'll be getting a free pair as soon as they've acually finished their production run (which is not yet so don't get your hopes up about getting them too soon - apparently there are only some samples floating around). The ski I've been told I'll get pretty much the one BakerBoy described, the Frenchies said they wouldn't be selling any of them at all. $1200? Bwahahahahaha! :)

dudele - what dimensions and lengths did you get on the b4?????
Moles had some new quad x's in LL that were insane. Wondering if that is the predecessor to a b4, but he said only the pro's were getting the model he had. tell me more in an email, please.

Seriously though. I had heard the same thing a few months ago, but I've seen the Legend Pro at the www.SportsDen.com shop and it's def. 90 or less in the waist. The Alaska Legend that dudele mentions is the ski I heard about and have been hoping for.
I'd be all over a 186 AK Pro, but probably not for a few months, it sounds like.

I'll just second the slightly confirmed rumor of the AK Pro as being 186 and 97 @ the waist. Last time I stopped in at the headquarters in VT they didn't have any in.

- no word on how available these will become when.

Well, regardless of what size waist they are exactly, my pair should be here by the end of the week. The interesting thing is that the Dynastar rep said the Legend Pro was a "shorter and wider version of the Super Nobis, at 186 and 97mm waist". Makes me wonder if ther 194 Legend Pro is the SN, and the 186 is actually wider.

So... when you skied them, did you happen to look at them? Are they closer to 89mm or 97mm in the waist?

I think they are pretty much the same as the inspired nobis model, with the 89 waist and all. I saw a pair at daniel lachance in tremblant, pretty neat and hyper stiff. They had all the fun skis I wanted.

That's hyper rad! And since we know that Tremblant is the capital of Eastern pow-pow, especially this year, I could see how having a bunch of fat skis would make sense. Silly French Canadians.
Spyder calls their orange papaya ... would you say the skis you saw CantDog were papaya?

fully half my days have been pow days this year, so I'm not complaining. Plus its neat to see pow skis for once, since the closest thing the shops around me have are old jerry launchers they're trying to pawn of for 650 bucks. You guys don't have to hog ALL of the good stuff ;)

it does make sense, its my ski locker.
the 186 AKpro should with a 97mm waist should be in this week. i will probably ride them for a couple weeks and then sell them for food beer and gas money before the end of the season. not for public. it took hell fo me to have a pair. the have the same orangy- color as the legends 8000 witch a in and the pro witch is a s-nobis. legends 8000 (alt of arnapruna) are in and look just like a fuckin surfboard. i don't get it.
i know i should make a new thread about this but its way more fun here. and i don't really feel like reading all the posts see if someone wrote about this somewhere else i've been away for too long. i will look less dumb if so tanbien
the k2 apache Chief will replace their xp-ak whatever
kahuna will turn into the sick AK MADEN, graphics slitghly different then the ones we saw earlier somewhere, pair already ordered this will be my chile ski !
eh.....rumors of b4 in last shipment of rossi skis will be confirmed this week....i can't even sleep because of this one
b3 stays same for next year. scratch bc gets a cosmetic facelift. will ride them on wednesday will try to catch pics of em.
eh ? what else. oh. sanouks for everybody as the ski will make an official market entry with sick new graphics.....by the way we have a pair on the wall at the shop if ya'd like to make an offer. exxxpensive ass ski.
So after my 6th day sking these I noticed a small bump on the ith edge of the top sheet behind the ski. Couple more days on the Skis and I notice the bump is biger and now there are two bumps. I am able to get my fingernail under the topsheet. Fuck it I just keep sking!!.
Today when I get done I look them over and I have 4 ripples down the edge of the ski.
The good news it that Bobo's will send them in for warrenty Repair? Replacment, even though I bought the skis off the internet. Dave figures I might have them back by NewYears. So I will ski them tommorw and then off they go too?? If I had bought from them from Bobo's I think they would have pulled a pair off the wall and that would have been that.
BTW I am not a big deal Pro Skier, just a middle aged Recreational skier. these skis have not been beaten by most peoples standard. I guess this falls into the (Shit Happens) catigory.

LP's are notoriously suject to topsheet edge delams/chips.
Usually just the plastic topsheet, but sometimes also the titanal layer.
I always assumed it was caused by the other ski edge, but maybe the delam happened first, and the other ski then ripped it off/open. Either way, there is definitely a weak gue bond there.
I have glued down several such bubbles with epoxy. (and sealed some open chips with epoxy also to keep them from spreading and from letting water into the core)
But, I have never bought a pair new, so I didn't do any warranty.
Maybe their presses are squeezing out too much epoxy at the edges?
