I am considering buying a pair of used tele-ski's for $250. The skis are Karhu '03 Jaks, with G3 bindings.
They look to be in good shape except for some base damage. I am not sure how serious the damage is and if these skis are worth buying, or how much to repair.
Please check the attached image for a picture of the base shot. Please give any suggestions, thoughts or any help would be great, thanks.

no problem as long as the edges and sidewalls are intact. the edges look okay from this angle...may be a tiny bit compressed. Take about 5 mins with a ptex candle to fix that.

They are easily repairable, but in the worst location.
Core shots at the edge are the worse since all the force is there and if you hit a rock there next time it is more likely to pull out the weld and take the edge with it.
I would rather have twice the gouge in the middle of the ski.
Of course, I have plenty of both types in most of my skis. Give me enough time and I can do that little shot easily.
That being said, it seems a fair price for skis with binders.
If they were alpine, I would use that as an outside edge. At least with tele, you split the weight on both skis.
