There is a large PNW maggot contingency and we all ski backcountry. So long as you have avi gear, have taken avi courses, and have some backcountry knowledge, there isn't a problem with you tagging along. However, skiing backcountry "just to get better" is a huge liablity on all of us.

Are you really willing to drag a snowboarder along on the traverses at Baker, Alpy, and Crustal? You're far braver than myself.

Dont give him that much credit.
I will gladly show anyone around the resort, but I wont take any one I dont know into the BC until I can see them ski and feal confident in there BC skills. I dont need to be dragging a liability into the BC that is inexperianced.

My point exactly. It's not just being able to ride well, but having the knowledge and common sense to back it up.
