Hey Midwesterners! I know we need to wait for the snow to fly, but we definitely need to put together a Mini. Even if it's a Gaperfest at MRM or Mount Holly. Sack up you pussies, let's get together!! :FIREdevil :D

It has always been a dream of mine to get a large group together and organize a meeting at a ski hill posing as The John Deer Enthusiasts of Southern Indiana, or something to that effect and then get all dressed up in the best gaper gear and just terrorize a shitty hill for a day.

..someday...

So, uh, you're a JONG, right? Not everyone is a guy on this forum. And the whole point of gaper day is to gape it up and have fun. And there's plenty of people who would rather drive 14 hours to CO than to Bohemia.

I'd definitely be down for a gaper day with some midwestern mags. Looks like I might have to make a trip to Tractor Supply Company for this one. PM me if you want any help organizing everything.

tan Carhart overalls (with bovine feces stains) + camo John Deere hat = hard core exxxtreme

gotta look like you just got done with the morning milkin' and then hit the slopes.

Nohills, sounds good to me, would rather not have it at MRM as that is a huge trek for me, maybe somewhere more central in michigan.

We could totally kill it at somplace like timber ridge, bittersweet or swiss valley. all within 3 hours of me, less than 2 for you, and probobly 2 or less for most other michigan maggs, unles they are upper mitten or yoopers. I spend quite a bit of time at the boynes and nubs too, so we could do it there.

As far as i am concerned, Bohemia is too far of a trek for most, as good as it is, its better to go west with teh amount of drive time involved.

timber ridge, bittersweet or swiss valley.
I could, potentially, make it to one of these three, pending approval from my free time manager(gf).

Bwa! We figured if I ever end up back visiting my parents during winter (not likely) we'd have to hit Mt Brighton with big fat skis and a pack with ice axes and climbing gear hanging off of it. Heh.

wow, it seems like there could actually be some momentum for this. I think the joke would be funniest at a place full of yuppies like Crystal or Shanty, but could easily be done at bittershit or timber ridge. The only thing is that there is a good chance we dont get noticed at all, and end up making a bunch of new redneck friends.

If the weather is up to par, come out to Swiss Valley in Jones Michigan for the Snowmeister race January 15th. They have a GS for skiers and boarders. It is usually a good time. This should be a good time and a prime event to get all maggoty and gape it up. I'll be there regardless, and ya'll could witness my GS suit steeze.

We were there as a family yesterday and the snow is suprisingly OK for the lack of winter like temps we have been having. Hopefully it doesn't get up to 50 like they are forcasting.

Damn we need winter weather soon.

Looks like we will be at Swiss Valley either Saturday or Sunday Depending on the weather. I have one freebie lift ticket good for Sunday only that I will be glad to give to a deserving maggot.

The Park at Swiss is in very nice shape, 2 big tables, several rails, some fun boxes, a c-box and a few other things. really a nice park for So MI.

Anyway, We will be there one of the 2 days totally dependant on the weather.

If anyone is interested in doing some racing this sunday at Swiss Valley, come on out, it should be a pretty good time. I will be there weather permitting. I may even bring my DH skis for the 2 - 4 gates on the DH course :)

Details for the Snowmeister race on sunday if the weather permits:

Ski Categories 9 & Under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-35, 36 & Up

Snowboarding 12 & Under, 13-18, 19-35, 36 & Up

1GS on Skis, 1 GS on snowboard, 1 DH on skis, 1 DH on Snowboard

$12.00 for Skiing or Snowboarding, $ 20.00 for Skiing & Snowboarding

Registration from 8-10AM Race begins at 10:30 AM

The Snowmeister is the male and female with the fastest time for both skiing and snowboarding. Ski times(DH and GS) and SB(DH & GS) times are combined and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals are awarded for each discipline, male and female. We have lots of great prizes including a flat screen TV. Prizes are handed out as a raffle based on bib numbers.

Just noticed this thread and, if the planets are in line, I will be there.

Basically, if you go to Boyne on a weekend and I'm not in Utah I'll go. Maybe.

The forcast has changed for sunday and is looking fairly good. I will be at Swiss Valley tonight and will report back tomorrow when I have some time.

How many think they will make it on sunday, I may be able to arrange for a small maggot discount. Remember Swiss Valley is a small pretty pathetic hill, especially with the recent sucky weather, but it should be fun regardless.

PM me for my digits so we can get a decent head count and who to look for.
