with 10 inch sets.
hahahaha
you shoulda got up early yesterday. while every spot was packed with at least 20 people, we surfed a point that had 8 people at most all morning.
sadly, i was too terrified to take off on the set waves breaking in 2 feet of water, wrapping around a rock point.

I actually scored a peak to myself at 35th St MB while 50+ barneys hassled over the same sized peak at El Shitto.
Fuck this summer shit. I'm going insane here.

I shot photos at 2nd point Malibu Sunday AM under overcast skies then ended up at Lowers Sunday afternoon with some good late afternoon light shining on the lefts. Oh, and the surf was pretty good too.
Hoping to shoot Topanga Tuesday AM (If that damn marine layer doesn't show up again).

I drove down to the Wedge this morning before work to shoot for a couple of hours and while it's no longer double overhead, there were still some fun waves. One guy was surfing and the rest were spongers. There was a water photog just down the beach shooting a guy surfing at Cylinders who was just getting worked. He'd get to his feet, make the drop, and just get pummelled by the closeout. Although, I'm sure the pictures the guy was getting were pretty sweet. Will post a few more shots later today for your amusement.

Next swell looks to be arriving on Sunday out of the NW. Is it a wind swell? Anyone heard anything?

LONG RANGE
NPAC: There are no significant NW ground swells anywhere in sight now since high pressure has taken over most of the North Pacific. Small NW wind swell will remain steady over the next couple of days, with a slight boost possible by the end of the weekend and into early next week.
SPAC: We’ll see mainly SSW swell leftovers through the end of the week . Further out more activity in the Southern Hemisphere will send in a playful mix of S/SW swells (170-180 and 210-220) that will arrive around July 4-7th with some inconsistent chest-shoulder high surf at the best exposed breaks of Orange and San Diego Counties, although average spots likely won’t see mush more than knee-waist high waves. A slightly larger mix of SW and SE swells is possible around the 8th-11th. Stay tuned, we’ll have further updates in the next few days.

I've beeen slumming this week with the fam at Newport Coast Villas. Hit Salt Creek Monday AM and there were some outside bombs. Then hit Thalia St Laguna for a shore pound work out. The last two day were spent on the North side of the HB pier for some fun surf. Back to Salt Creek in the AM

Fucking south swell has been hitting Sewer Peak so sick. Last night till sun down was fucking sick. Overhead sets, clean glassy walls and plenty 'o barrels all night long. Got one so deep, I thought I could hear the echo of the dude's yelling as I got pitted. Seriously so fucking fun. I also managed to stick a couple airs. (Something I haven't done since I was a mini-grom [about 14])
The Gaff man came down for 3 days and scored some waves of his own too. That man only missed probably 3 daylight hours of surf the whole time.
And Scott if you read this. It got bigger, better and less crowded yesterday. 2cd peak had about 8-10 guys and looked the best it did all week. Sorry buddy.
I love surfing.

MMmmmmmm, Cylinders!!!! Big Tim, if you really want to take a beatin, head over to 10th street in Laguna (a.k.a. 1000 Steps). I like to think of it as a miny version of the wedge, but still packs a big punch.
