Beacon Help

Ok here is the deal, my family has figured out that I need a new beaocn, my uncle found out I was still using my old peeps, and he flipped, he said he won't ski BC with me with it, so they have all put money together to buy me a new one, and I am not gonna argue.

Since I have been a broke college student for so long, well I need some help with all the new beacons out there. I want some real world, you got it and like it, you got it and don't like it stuff. Pros of Each and Cons. I know the beacon is only as good as the person behind it, but I will put my time in with it before I use it. Oh yeah, I think about 350 is the price limit if this matters, but if a good one comes for like 200 then new skins are in the picture to. Thanks guys.

I bought the Barryvox, it is an awesome unit! I like being able to customize the search settings -- really makes me comfortable with how I'm using it.
The BCA unit is very popular, mostly (I think) because it is "easy to use," but I felt it had some limitations that made the Barryvox the better choice.

PSA: Everyone reading this, who has an old yellow Pieps, should take outside for drills. Not to test your skills but to measure range. Last year during practice i found that both my and my wifes Pieps were transmitting fine, but only receiving within 30 feet!

have tested 6 transrecievers (fi,m1,m2,dts,mammut/barrywox,pieps) and owned 3 (f1,m1 and dts).
my vote goes for the dts.

I like my Barryvox. Digital direction/distance indicator plus analog beeps (if you turn them on), cute little indicator for multiple burials, so small I never hesitate to tuck it in my inside pocket.

Caveat: if you never read manuals, a DTS Tracker is a better choice. Also I'm really curious about the new 3-antenna Pieps.
