Guanella Pass, Georgetown, CO

Has anybody hiked and skied from the top of Guanella Pass? How stable is the snow this time of year. I was camping at the top this weekend (June 18th) and it looked pretty good and the hike looked relatively easy from where the road ends. Does anybody know about this area?

Wow, I never look at this forum - accidentally clicked a button and got here.

Anyway, I skied the north aspect woods off of Guanella early season last year. Some deadfall but lots of snow. There's also a slide path that I skied but wouldn't get on later in the season.

On the other side is an old ski area with mellower terrain. The trails are clearly visible. There wasn't as much snow over there...
