dearest webmaster of mayhem & disaster
This may have been requested already, but are we getting enough posts in the Ski/Snowboard forum to warrant a seperate compartment for both?
My vote (for what its worth) is to have 2 different forums. I would like to see who in here snowboards. This would help us to keep on topic track, and would probably keep snowboarder members from eventually going elsewhere?
Thanks! I'm a big fan :)

I disagree, thats what makes this place so awesome. The convergence of the two sports and keeping them in harmony; not like some dumb split-forum where one bashes on the other constantly. We're here because we all share a love for snow, gravity and the power of nature. So lets keep them together, that's what keeps me coming back

Plenty of people who post here post on other boards as well (biglines, TTips, Epic(!)) that are more focused on one aspect of snow riding than another. I'm sure (and I'm sure you know) there are plenty of dedicated snowboard forums out there if you're concerned about people on two planks hijacking threads dedicated to people on one, driving them irretrievably off topic track. But what's the real point? Having two rooms would make threads that are of interest to both skiers and boarders less likely to be seen by all.

That's the stupidest idea I've seen on here in a long time. What's next? Segregating the telemarkers?
Don't take it so literally, man - the ski/snowboard section is for all snow sports.
Personally, I don't care who skis or rides (or snowshoes), it's all about the stoke.

Thanks for your kind words, Yogachick. Sweet job at embracing suggestion. Why would someone want to join a community of "That's the stupidest idea I've seen on here in a long time. What's next? Segregating the telemarkers?
Don't take it so literally, man." Literally, man.
I think that if we have truly gotten past the whole seperatism of skiing-boarding, then we can embrace the fact that we are ONE. C'mon- we all know this. You are right- we share so many aspects, that we wouldn't want to compartmentalize that. But that isnt my point. Look at me.
I ski and snowboard, but the fact is- we are two different sports. This means we sometimes want to talk about different companies, different riders, different tricks, and occasionally different tastes. This isnt an issue of seperating skiiers from snowboarders. Its an issue of improving the flow of comments on the site. Read this comment twice if needs be.
A common scenario:
kid posts a comment about such and such pro rider who starts riding for another company. By the time a fellow shred even gets to read the post, it is bumped 3 pages back because of the massive amount of psoting which has occured. This serves nobody.
If you think that my campaign is to merely seperate us as individuals like I want to rip each other apart (wahh wahh wahh) then I am not explaining myself right.
Thats great that "its all about the stoke", and that "its for all sports". I am talking on a logistical level of the forum. Read the posts in the Ski/Snowboard thread. How many apply to snowboarding?
And why I am offering my suggestions in the Ask TGR thread (who works on the TGR site? My intent was to actually "Ask TGR"?) Is because I dont want to post on biglines.com, or boardersshreddingouttahell.com, I want to stay here with my family.
If you think that my campaign is to merely seperate us as individuals like I want to rip each other apart (wahh wahh wahh) then I am not explaining myself right.
Lemme do it for you; you're a dork.
Edit: Seriously, start a poll in the Ski/Snowboard section if you're so keen on this. There's a lot of history here, perhaps you ought to learn about it before proposing changes to the existing format.

your the one calling us "family" after 6 months and 100 posts
we dont need seperate forums, just as Micah and Jeremy dont need seperate movies.
its part of why TGR is TGR.
if you wann post about a board or a rider, and have it stick around, post in tech talk.
and I imagine the reason no on from th home office in Jackson has responded is they have bee too busy getting the trailer of skiing and snowboardin out.

What's next? Segregating the telemarkers?
I think this might be a good thing, the main forum is starting to smell a little funny.
Hey Station, there's a little thing called the search function. If anyone here really cares what is happening to the pros, you can type in their names and talk about it. BTW, I heard Tanner broke both legs, his pinky toe, and got some sand in his vagina. He's doing pretty bad, since he can't get a prescription for some weed cuz the feds can go bust him now.

Hey Station,
Thanks for the idea but our beliefs here at TGR echo that of the members on the board. It doesn't matter what device you use to get around in on snow, just as long as your doing it.
Thanks again for the suggestion though.

I re-read everything a few times just to be sure, but from my point of view, it seems to me that you got your "panties in a bunch" from your very first comment:
"That's the stupidest idea I've seen on here in a long time. What's next? Segregating the telemarkers? Don't take it so literally, man - the ski/snowboard section is for all snow sports."
But maybe I'm wrong.
Lay off the hate.

Word. I am basically viewing this concept similar to how you have established a seperate Surf forum, and a seperate Kayak forum, while these are both ways to get around on the water. This wasnt intended to be a feud about ski vs. board (I ski AND snowboard). Again, it was merely about the function of the site. Thanks for considering my feedback.
Thanks, TGR Web Staff!

Point of order in response to crash's post, 8) NSFW forum was suggested therefore my seconding of such was in order
