April 1st - West Bowl - Mammoth

Complete ACL tear; grade II MCL tear; lateral meniscus bucket handle; big tibia bruise.

Surgery done May 19th and mending well; 2nd PT session today; 0 extension to 115 flexion; rode the bike and I suppose it's all good (considering).

Now here's the thing, we were shooting video at the time and for what it's worth we have it a very clear shot of me blowing my knee. Kind of weird I admit but at the same time...

I figure other folks who are going through this might want to see it. So if you do let me know and I'll e-mail it to you. The video file is about 3mb.

Join the club. It's uber frustrating getting to play it back in slo mo...I stopped watching mine after a few weeks.

Wow, 0 to 115 at the second PT, 6 days out?! Congrats on those figures, i'm not even near that (5 to 82, exercising and stretching it religiously) and I'm two weeks post op today. Did they do anything to the MCL or meniscus to repair them? Or did you just get the ACL graft?

Mine would have been pretty nasty. Prolly comparative to that football hyperextension they showed in a previous superbowl, can't quite remember the player at the moment. I think mine bent forward fairly far when I landed.

Yea - mine looks alot like the Lawrence Taylor hit on Joe Theisman during a Monday Night Football game years ago. And you're right I've watched it way too much but I'm sooo freaking bored.

I had an allograft and am suprised by the ROM I have at this point. I just hope this knee is "tight" in the fullness of time.

I just realized I didn't fully answer your question (yep - pretty bored re-reading my own thread). They took out about 30% of my lateral meniscus and left the MCL alone. I had an achilles allograft tied down with two bio-screws and one titanium screw.

I've been reading the other threads here and it looks like the two of us are way late to the party. Pretty sad making back to back posts to my own thread huh? (spank that monkey).

Cut some shots out from my video for yucks and of my knee. See if I can figure out how to post them here. If not I blame my lack of diligence taking my pain meds.

I'm feeling pretty good about week 1. My doc unlocked my brace yesterday, and took the stiches out. I drove myself to PT today, and my therapist said it's ok to start going to the gym tomorrow. Ahh the simple pleasures in life. Think I'll go pour myself a stiff one to celebrate.

How's your re-hab going?
