who loves 'em? who hates 'em? i've just been through three straight months of oxycodone, oxycontin, vicodin, percoset etc. and getting off of those things was a bitch. it's been almost a month without, but i still daydream of constipation and hallucination. i swear pain pills are the only upside to shattering your femur. who's with me.

8 days and out. I was getting rather odd. The last few days I think I was popping them cuz I wanted them, not cuz I needed them.

Loved 'em. Miss 'em, in a way. I have a long history of consciousness altering. Still prefer the Kind over everything. Give me a healthy body and no substances over the alternative, though.

I got really sick of the hydrocodone stuff. It seems like, after a few weeks, you have to double the dose for any relief, which inevitably doubles the (bad) side effects.

Percocet on the other hand, that's the shit. Pop a perc, lay head back, wake up, wipe drool from face, repeat. Obviously not something you want to do for too long, but definitely an interesting way of life.

When I left the hospital I was on 240mg/day of oxycontin. I was weened off for a period of 4 months. When I reached 0mg/day I began heavy withdrawl for 10 days. It was NO fun. I've had the left over oxy now for three years- never even thought about hitting it even when I was actually in pain. Nasty stuff (though it works, and well- just have an attentive doc who will help you ween).

On the other hand, Percs/Vics/Codine for just a few days to a week is just ducky. My cocktail of choice is 2 325/5mg of perc and 2 beers. I call it the Chuck Woolery- 'be back in 2 and 2.'

You can offset the constipatoin with some stool softner. Try some colace.

I LOVED morophine, Excpet I got to control my own amout every 10 minutes or so, And it shut down my bladder. That really really sucked. (catheder) The Vicadin/oxy made me sick and I ultimatley ended up on Darvaset which isnt as bad but I dont get the buzz. In summary, Duker doesnt hold his drugs well.

Codeine did nothing for me. Vicotin took a few times before it actually helped any, now I get a pretty good buzz and no pain. I think they're giving me Percs post op, we'll see. I think I'll try to stay away from the oxycotin stuff, it's enough just going through PT, I don't need rehab too.
