Some buddies of mine called to see I would fly down to do some surfing on the Louisiana barrier islands called the Chandeleur Islands next month. Access is by boat only and my buddies said they typically have 6 to 8 on any given day with no one else around.
Anyone else surfed Louisiana out there and is it worth it before I plunk down a big chunk of cash? Bourbon Street is well worth the trip though.

cant say i have surfed there. seems pretty intersting. i checked www.wannasurf.com and www.surfline.com and there was no info on that location. if it was up to me, i would say go for it. but all depends on time and weather. when do u plan on going?

First week of May which coincidentally falls on the last weekend of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Hit the Jazz Fest on Frid-Sun and surf Monday thru Thurs. I think I'm going to book that ticket tonight.
The Allman Brothers, the Nevilles, the Meters, etc and surf....what a trip this will be even if its tiny 2 footers.

Maybe you can catch some oil tanker surf a la "Step into Liquid".

too early to predict what conditions would be like now, since weather maps that are reliable are one week forecasts.
seems like a good trip though, so i say book it, and no matter what-even if the surf sucks-youll have a good time
