Skied the south summit route on Mt Hood?

Looking for some beta. Anyone ski through the Pearly Gates and over the bergschrund?

yo Lance...stick this in Q in the main Ski/Snowboad forum. There are some peeps who hang out here that have skied this route.

This "Summit' forum really isn't about summits literally, but rather "Summit" in this forum here means big ass ragin get together ski party. (more or less..scroll through the threads here and you'll see what I mean.)

I've done the route twice. First time was in early May, and some wild ice ferns had grown from the summit through the gates, forcing me to down climb until I was at the top of the hogsback. Went back last winter and skied it full length from the top, no problem. In both instances the 'schrund was easily negotiable. Since you climb up the descent, you'll get a great chance to judge for yourself.

skied it in May a few years ago - the chute through the pearly gates was fine and as it's been said, you'll likely have no prob negotiating the shrund. I'd like to ski the Coopers Spur one of these days from the top.
