To all those non-office mags or those who are ditching work, is anyone interested in skiing thursday or friday? I'm too pumped for this weekend so i'm gonna sack up an skip a day or two of classes to track everything out before all you get there  We should def have some places to meet in the morn cause i don't have a radio......and apres spots.....we should take over the rusty nail or the horn one night too....

I don't have a radio either and haven't been to Stowe in almost 15 years so I don't know my way around. I figure since we're meeting at Jose's after skiing Saturday I want to be close to there in the morning. I have to do the family thing to get my day started so what's a good place to meet around 10? I know the lifts open at 7:30 so that gives everybody time to go get warmed up so you can really kick my ass around the hill that much worse.

Mit, the Ms., and I are in for Saturday. Meeting times would be good to know - both before and after the ski day.

Sick and ashamed and happy (and looking forward),

i think we should meet outside the midway lodge (under the gondola) at nine. or the base of the quad. someone else make the call. the snow should be exceptional.

gravitylover
02-28-2005, 06:20 AM
That sounds like the ticket. Under the midway lodge at 9 and again each hour on the hour so those who haven't already hooked up or want to change groups or whatever can meet.

Yup, exceptional snow sounds like the deal. It looks like Stowe will get between 2 and 4 feet this week.

yeah. i think after nine the meeting place for those with early obligations should hang down by the gondola corral to meet at ten. its possible that i'll prefer to ski the quad earlier in the day though. there is also a dry erase board at the gondie, so if groups are skiing off the quad we can relay that on the board.

I'll be at the gondie at 9 and 10 asking for change. Never been to Stowe so this should be pretty cool if we get that snow storm. Staying at the Mountaineer Inn with a few zoners on Sat, can't wait to get up there. Skiing both Sat and Sunday.

Hmmm.....not sure. I don't have a radio but i will have my cell if there is reception. PM me if you want the #. If you know a time you will be there we could pick a meeting point like base of quad or gondola. I have bright red pants, a red/white/blue helmet, orange boots and inspireds so i'm hard to miss....

so is everyone meeting on fri or sat? I'm driving up from CT on thursday night, will likely be at stowe fri. and jay saturday. guess i'll show up at the midway lodge at 9am fri. if this is not the plan for everyone i will probably see you, Raps, if no one else.
I'm: yellow-sleeved sessions jacket, black pants, black 9 helmet, volkl AX3's.

do we have a place to meet for apres/dinner?

basom
03-03-2005, 04:53 AM
i think gravity lover and stowevibe have set something up for saturday afternoon. i think there will be free copys of soul purpose available. if i recall correctly every one should show up where we meet in the am, have a beer, stoke out about the day, pick up a dvd and get stickers from schuss, then we'll all roll to someplace for more drinking eating.
it might be hard to find a place that will fit all of us, but it depends on who sticks around at the end of the day i supose.
check the other threads, i'm pretty sure it went something like that.

Prolly something like the matterhorn or the rusty nail would work. I haven't been to many of the bars in Stowe. But there is also the Backyard Pub, I haven't been there though.

matterhorn is always way yoo crowded on saturdays. the nail, or maybe the shed. or both.

i mean, if you were spending $300,000.00 for a new kitchen, wouldn't you want to at least get to see the sexy carpenter and his giant tool belt more than one day a week?

I'm bothering with Jay cause i have a pass, and because the mountain is totally radical.
That aside, how do we get hold of these $35 tix for when I do make it to Stowe on fri. or sat.?

Unless my ice climbing partner gets his act in gear, I will be at Stowe saturday morning in a tired state... probably a bit grumpy after paying $70 for a lift ticket 'cause I was stoopid and missed out on the maggot special.

No guys, as far as I know you can still email Julie a.k.a. stowevibe and she can set up vouchers for you to pick up at stowe customer service desk. Drop her a line at:

jbock@stowe.com

Hope to see you there!

FYI - I just e-mailed her and she was able to get me a reduced ticket that will be waiting for me at at Mansfield Guest Service desk in Mansfield base lodge (by the Quad).

Any maggots that need a ticket - send her an e-mail.

See you all this weekend.

Who you referring to? R as in Raps? I didn't get a PM but i don't see any other R's posting on this thread. I'm skiing stowe tomorrow - there should be a few mags out there...

Sorry man, I was referring to Ryan. As far as Fri. nite, the band playing at the horn supposedly is Vince WelnicK and Gent Treadly....Vince was on keyboards for the Grateful Dead. These guys are playing at the Wobbly tonight...may check them out and post review in morn.

Okay, review on Vince and friends... Just be thankful you have skiing to fall back on. Gent Treadly dug Vince Wolnick up somewhere because he wasn't doing anything and they paid for his flights and whatever to have him front their band.I don't think this is a trip down memory lane that you guys want to get involved with, let alone pay good money for. You've got mediocrity headed by hippyized nostalgia and it ain't pretty. Much credit to Julie (from Dr. Juice, the warm up band) who joined them with her flute and then sax.

Umm, this probably does not bode well for a hook up.......I take it all back....you are definately a sexy, sexy dude......

I'm all posted out....see you there.
