Has Black Diamond stopped marketing the Avalung?

A friend told me to day that BD had stopped marketing the avalung. His source wasn't particularly reliable, just some gossip from some other skier friends who "know people" at BD.

I checked their website.

The packs are all available, but the stand-alone avalung is not.

Anyone know the truth behind this?

I think he got his info skewed. BD had a pretty big recall on a portion of the lungs and packs over the winter, and a lot of effort was put into getting that information out. I imagine that is what he is referring too. That said, BD was sending replacements, and had fewer to ship new. Thus a lack of availability at a weird time.
