Search didn't bring much back on these, hoping someone has some insights before I pick my xmas present.

Most of my skiing is at Castle Mtn, pretty even split between lifts and sled access, and I'm already set for big skis so I was leaning towards Mantras as an everyday ride, but the Nordica Hell & Backs are really being pushed on me as the better option for what I'm after.

Since we usually ride in and skin for laps weight is a factor, but I'll be mounting Freerides and long tours aren't likely so it's obviously not a huge deal. Shape is pretty close and I've spent enough time on them to know I like the Mantras, but the weight reduction of the Nordicas is appealing.

Anyone skied the Hell & Backs and have an opinion?

Voile Chargers are on the radar, as well, but I'm kind of leaning towards narrower as the 112 waist would have some overlap with others in my quiver.

I'll be mounting the unleashed (I core and 112mm) in 185 for my AT ski. our store has the patron (same ski) Rumor has it the unleashed is softer and lifter and you can buy pre-cut skins too.

I have some 181 coombacks for sale now too (rockered, drilled for dynafits)

should be a nice ski I hope, I think you will like yours too,

Thanks DH, totally missed that thread on my search.

Looks like they should be worth a shot, seem to be pretty well reviewed anyway.
