Does anyone have any insight into skiing without a PCL (and a slightly damaged MCL)? I blew mine out in the park and started skiing again shortly thereafter and am just wondering about long-term negative effects, precautionary measures, etc.

BUd many people get by without their PCL for most things. As far as knee stability goes the PCL is not as important as the ACL. You should be able to ski without it once the MCL heals up.

How did you tear it? Most common way is a fall on the front of the knee while it is bent.

A friend of mine tore his a few years ago, they never fixed it b/c apparently as Vinman said it isn't as necessary anyway. My buddy is fine without it.

one of my snowboard lurker buddies did his in a terrible auto accident. i guess they never really fix em, cause he had a lot of reconstructive surgery and they left the busted pcl.

he rides fine it seems, no knee troules (guy doesn't really huck it too hard though, but thats more just his style rather than being afraid of the knee)

How did you tear it?

I hit the kicker with too much speed, flew past the tranny and landed dead flat and didn't have the early season strength to stomp it. My knee bent forward and inward and left a divot in the snow.
