Hi all,

I'm a newbie to these forums so be nice  .

I'm heading over to Canada in mid October and hoping to work in a mountain resort somewhere. How much luck will I have if I just show up and look around? I'd love to find work in somewhere like Whistler, Banff, Silver Star, or somewhere like that.
I'm hoping to do ski/rental tech, or ski instructing.

I've been on a few other forums looking for advice as well, since I've never been in Canada and I'm not quite sure what to expect.

My flight is booked for Calgary at the moment, thinking of changing it to Van though.

Cheers..

Whistler is so fuckin expensive, I grew up there with 2 parents working fulltime and we lived in a basement suite. Best hill in Canada, not a good place to show up looking around for work.

Fernie's got a new chair though! Straight to the peak. Lake Louise and sunshine are great too! Lotta hotties from C-town

Yeah I've been in Whistler for two days now. Nice place alright but it is a rip off. The beer at the pup in Creekside is amazing though, even if it is expensive. The supermarket in the main village is shcoking for prices. I guess the pay must be a bit higher than other resorts though, or you wouldn't afford living there. Gonna head off to somewhere else soon me thinks!

yea the market in the village is almost entertaining for high prices. i think it was the nesters grocery store that was cheapest when i was sorta living there for a bit a few years ago....not sure if it's still the same
