What do you do on a Sunday when you can't sleep?

I decided to get the bike out and do a nice long ride. No one else was up yet, but sometimes it's nice to ride alone so you can go wherever you want. I decided to ride from out my door in Dillon Valley, out to Keystone, and back in a loop. The tentative plan was to take Straight Creek to Oro Grande to Keystone Gulch to Soda Creek then back to the Valley. It didn't quite turn out right, but a nice ride nonetheless.

This is one sketchy ass bridge to start the day out.

Now on to the Oro Grande. This trail isn't too exciting, but it offers nice views and fast dirt to really stretch the legs out.

The dump and shooting range are so sexy.

After the dump I kept climbing the dirt road for a few miles until I found some nice singletrack to use to descend into Keystone.

It was fun...

Finally into Keystone and the first of the pavement, this shit lasted for about a mile until I pulled into Keystone Gulch.

Now this is where I think I first messed up. Once I hit the Keystone Gulch Trailhead I took a right at the first singletrack I saw. Rossater Trail maybe? It has some nice sections, but lots of mud and horse shit. Should I have gone farther up the gulch to hit the CT to come down into Soda Ridge?

Still some fun trail.

Around this point I had an option to climp up Aquaduct (which I should have done) which probably could have led me where I wanted to go...instead I turned right.
But I saw some nice flowers.

I got dumped out in Summit Cove by the Elementary school and had about 4 miles of bike path ahead of me.

Two more miles of dirt. I can see my house.

All in all it was:
23.2 miles
avg 7.75mph
top 29mph
time 3hours on the dot.
1 pedal that released and bashed an ankle.

I'm pissed I didn't make it to the Soda Creek Trails...next time I might have to look at a map first.

Nice ride. The dirt was excellent up there today.
