29er giant & Trek Fuel EX 5.5

Having never had a 29er im itching to get one, but i can get the Trek fuel EX5.5 (2010) for the same price as the Giant XTC29er(2010)... i have read all about the advantages of the 29ers but its a hardtail and the FS is a steal IMO? any one have experience with either? thoughts opinions?

I don't like the way the 2010 XTC 29 Handles, the steering is funny... It always felt like it wanted to under cut itself when making sharp turns...But I also ride slack bikes mostly

pretty different bikes. XTC is more speed/race suited. Fuel EX is full on all arounder. I beat the shit out of my EX8 having a blast but I go faster on my 29er hardtail.
