"The last time we had a late opening at Stevens Pass was 1990. By December 31st 1989 we had a base total of 16" of snow. To our dismay, Mother Nature arrived like a rockstar that year: late and with a huge entourage. We had 211” of snowfall in January of 1990. Optics- just got an email from my coaching program. I can make the field day on the 8th because our mandatory training is on Jan 9th. Phew...sorry to cause any problems.
And that picture is super surreal and probably slightly indicative of the snowpack we are working on this year. I think I am going surfing in OR this weekend instead of trying to ski... :nonono2:

I don't think that I should get docked points because I don't want to waste my money to ski shitty snow (Crystal base is 11 inches...) and trash my skis when I could do other adventure related activities...

I think I'm going to Crystal next week just to say I skied the 11" base, and so I can better empathize with the midwest mags.
