I am on my second giro remedy. the first one i had warrantied because soem of the paint flaked off and revealed that that was all there was as far as "protection" in some spots. seriously, just paint!
i am on my second helmet now and i have put 85 days on it or so. it has 3 small holes on it, the goggle strap on the back came off one day, a screw insert for the visor came out, so no more visor attaching, the mesh on an earhole dissapeared, on the same earhole two large cracks have developed leading out and away from the hole, and front and center on the fullface there is another large crack.
just letting you guys know my experience with the giro remedy fullface helmet.
I would save your money and buy something nicer of better quality!

hmmm... can you post pics? chipping paint doesn't seem like all that bad of a thing, and those stupid plastic screws on the front center hole should be replaced with metal right away, this shit will strip faster than Pam Anderson on New Year's at Hef's house anyways.

Do you grab the helmet near the mesh panel when putting it on? I found that when I'm pulling mine on I kind of grab right at the mesh, so I've been trying to not poke it out, which might be happening, and the stress from pulling it once through the hole once the mesh is gone could easily form a crack over time.

It's worth mentioning that full face ski helmets are built to be about as thin as possible, because they need to be as light as possible and offer nowhere near the protection of say a motorcycle helmet. This may be part of the "thin spot" equation you're having trouble with... Or you could have gotten a defective model too... If you get a replacement, keep us posted and try to take pics. Thanks for the heads up, I'll pay attention to mine.

You obviously hit your head a lot. Aside from the holes, that thing is beyond beat.

Looks like you need to take better care of your gear.My Remedies have saved my ass many times over, including a shot into a tree at 45mph.I walked away no worse for the wear.(Most) Helmets are a single impact item anyways,so after a good impact they need replacement.I'd gladly spend double what it costs for a Giro Remedy for the protection I know it offers.

You can tell just by looking at the paint on that helmet that you should have replaced it long ago... The cracks just add the icing on the cake. My remedy DH helmet has lasted forever, including a hit or two that I should have replaced it after.. I also never had any issues with paint chips, and I certainly didn't store it in the bag.

Yeah my remedy carbon from 3 seasons ago is still going strong. I will be replacing it next season as a helmet should be replaced every 3-5 years anyways. Your helmet is beat.

Thanks for the heads up. I know helmets are a "one time hit" sort of deal, but those cracks don't seem right....I'll pick a different full-face if I buy one in the future.
