Need to send back a Sage Z-Axis for warranty work (broken tip). Have the blank warranty card - was never sent in. Rod is about 18mos old. Do I need to mail in the warranty card before I ship back the rod? Or will Sage still honor the warranty on an unregistered rod?

Had hoped to buy a replacement through their extra tip program but it's $140. You'd think they would charge $50 (same price as the warranty service) and save everyone the hassle.

Just send it in with the $50, no need to send them the card. Has worked for me.

I concur. The last two rods I broke were both tip breaks and they sent me a new top section both times. Warranty card was sent in for one, but not other. Same results. IMO, Sage is a great company to deal with when shit like this happens.
