I was reading in the Oct 2010 edition of Bicycling magazine that more and more towns are considering outlawing bicycles on their streets. All I have to say to that is: WTF?????????

Black Hawk, Colorado has apparently banned bicycles from most of its streets "due to safety concerns". Missouri is thinking about ordinances that would ban bikes from some Missouri state highways.

You mean BIG FREAKIN' SUVs are allowed, but bikes are somehow not welcome???

Seems time for some big-time Critical Mass regarding that bullshit.

No lawyer (and do not play one on TV either), but I wonder if the state laws would trump this- ie the State statues allow bicycles, so therefore the "local" law would be in conflict. Court cases would have to ultimately settle the legality of those laws.
