How much is the forward pressure effected by a sole length change of 6mm? Is it an ACL?

It's enough that you should have the binding adjusted by someone who knows what they're doing.
I've had bindings "fail" a release test because they were mis-adjusted by as little as 1mm. When I fixed the rear forward pressure, they passed.

Skimax, I've got a new pair of boots given to me that seem to be solid- I'd like ski in my old ones for a few hours and then try out the new ones to compare/contrast. I guess a better question is: Can a 6mm sole be moved up at the tech shop quickly (not an overnight thing)? Or do I just need to chose a pair and go with?

i wouldn't worry about it. if you're just going out to test the fit and flex of the new boots, you should be fine. 6mm should be just close enough. easy two minute adjustment, if you need it.

6mm can easily be adjusted for as long as your bindings are not at their adjustment limit. If you don't trust them, have them adjusted an tested.
