after my near neck and face breaking crash last weekend, i realized my current helmet (Bell Bellistic) is too small. thinking of getting the cortex flow. wondering about the fit (L/XL) and ventilation or lack of ventilation.
likey? no likey? worth the money?
merci danke

aren't they around $500? there's no way it's that much better than other helmets.

MIPS for the full DH helmet.
if you click the link the other one (non-MIPS) is reasonable at about $250.

i'd actually consider the full DH with MIPS if it had better ventilation. dealing with the hudge abscess in my mouth from the impact has been a PITA. but on the bright side, i lost more weight! :)

i bought the cortex flow. first place i ordered it from ended up not having it in stock...eventually got it for $160 from speedgoat.com.
i have a fairly averaged-shape head,59 cm, and the L/XL cortex fits me pretty well. it comes with two thicknesses of jaw/chin pads to let you dial in the fit.
air flow is quite good. not as good as, my specialized deviant, but better than most full face helmets.
fastex buckle rather than metal D rings is the only negative.
as with all POC products, the quality and workmanship appears better than most brands.

I thought the fit was very strange when I tried it on. Felt long front to back and narrow width wise. I have yet to find a helmet that fits like a D2 but everybody's head is different. I've also been lusting over that new Fox Helmet...

'narrow' -- between the temples? or in the jaw/cheekbone area? did you swap out pads, or just tried it on with the pads that were in there?
everybody's head is different. i'm fortunate that mine is average enough that most brands of helmets fit me reasonably well.

trigger pulled. order shipped.
my head seems to be like your's too fro - 59cm. i do have some issue with the jaw area not being so wide on helmets but only when i clench my teeth. hopefully with the interchangeable pads there is no problem. TR forthcoming.

got my POC cortex flow today - sweet! super light and the fit is perfect with the lower profile jaw pads. it was supposed to be a white helmet but CRC sent an orange one - and i actually like it better.

IFelt long front to back and narrow width wise.
Sounds like my head. Too bad I'm not rad enough for a full face, I think the POC helmets are better looking than most of the other FF bicycle helmets.

for comparison purposes, if it helps anyone...
left to right -
Giro remedy (snowboard helmet)
POC cortex flow
Bell bellistic
THE helmet (not sure which model, not mine)
POC is the biggest of the bunch, just slightly more room than the Remedy. But the Remedy has the chin guard closer to the mouth (snowboard helmet). Bell is tighter in the upper jaw. THE helmet is too tight all over for me. 59cm around the temples, roundish head, big jaw I guess.
