Can I use a 203mm Avid IS adapter (front) from a Juicy, to mount a 203mm Hayes Stroker Ace brake? I bolted it all together and it looks OK. This is on a 160mm Fox Talas, 20mm thru-axle fork, from a couple of years ago.

The Avid adapter is quite a bit different looking than the Hayes one though.

i have done it with the 6" version. switched my hayes and avid brakes leaving the adapters on the bike. never had a problem. the avid needed to have the washers with them. the hayes did not need them.

as long as all the holes line up, you are good to go.

Thanks OCR -- I didn't know if the amount of spacer (i.e. bracket size) required for the Avid caliper is the same as that required for the Hayes caliper.

I have my Hayes bracket that I hope to use on my new Avids.
