These two guitarists are so good at what they do, their music should be illegal!!!

Naudo...don't know what his full name is...no one seems to know! This dude just plays at resturants on the coast of spain...but the guy has incredible skills! he starts off with a bit of Hotel California and then rolls into a totally different tune.

Lawson Rollins...This guy's fingers move so fast they're just a blur! This is his piece: "Fire Cadenza"

NICE! Gabriela is WAILING on guitar...but in a very good way. I love fast-moving, well-done spanish guitar.

Was a pleasure to listen to this duo!!

Wow!!! This guy is seriously good! Actually, saying that Carlos Vamos is "good" is like saying a Sequoia is a big tree. This guy doesn't just play the strings...he caresses them. I can't believe those sounds are coming out of an acoustic-electric!! He is actually one of the best I've heard in a long time.

Thanks for turning me on to a new musician....that's what it's all about.

Here...I put his video on directly. This guy is too good to miss!!!

How 'bout a little Keller?

I realize that this video is 8 minutes long, but if you don't know who Keller Williams is I urge you to watch it.

All of it.

It's a little different from what's been posted above, but I assure you...

You won't be disappointed!!

Wow, good stuff in this thread. I've been an Andy McKee and Rodrigo y Gabriella fan for a little while. Just stumbled across Lawson Rollins a couple weeks ago. Love me some good classical guitar, so will definitely spend some time listening to these other artists.

In the meantime, here's Rodrigo y Gabriella covering Metallica's Orion. Nothing to see in the video, just enjoy the music:

Rove - you should know better than to post anything remotely Eagles-oriented around here.

Rip - good one! Lotsa people write off Roy Clark because he was on Hee-Haw. Doesn't take away from the fact that the guy is a witch on the guitar.

Thanks, Ripzalot, for the inclusion of those two vids. That's EXACTLY what this forum is about....discovering new shit, or even re-discovering old shit.

Roy Clarke...I knew that the guy knew his way around a fretboard, but didn't know he could shred quite like that, and I guess his association with HeeHaw DID in fact taint my perception of breadth of his abilities....and very wrongly so.

But what I really wanted to thank you for was for that Jon Gomm video. That guy is amazing...wild talent on the strings combined with a very good voice. Never even heard of the guy before, so thanks for turning me on to a new talent.

Anybody know what that guitar Gomm is using? At first I thought it had the look of an Australian 'Maton', but I don't recognize the bridge shape. I like it, anyway. Looks and sounds sorta like a cedar top...but looking at where it's scratched up...white cedar instead of red cedar, which would be unusual. I love cedar tops! If it IS spruce, kudos to the builder, 'cause it has a very cedar-like sound.

Shit....I don't just love cedar tops....I love acoustic guitar in general. Their graceful simplicity....their individuality. Something about the shape - it just whispers: "play me."

EDIT: I've said it before, but in reference to that other video directly above, Michael Hedges was a true Master of Masters. The acoustic world was dealt a serious loss with his too early passing.

Another really great guitarist and sometime guitar-tapper is Kaki King...same last name. she played most of the actual acoustics for the movie August Rush...places where they needed to show hands actually playing...those were her hands.

In the movie August Rush she developed some tapping tunes very similar to your man Justin King....but here, in her song 'Gobi', she's gone back to mostly conventional, but still very good.

EDIT: Actually, having just gone back and listened to this vid (FOUR times!!!) with high fidelity headphones, I can say I used entirely the wrong word.......there is NOTHING conventional about Kaki King.

Okay, this guy plays with his toes, but since he was born without arms and his playing sounds pretty good for this rendition, I figure he deserves a look.

If I try REAL hard, I MIGHT be able to pick up a washcloth with my toes.
