Does anyone want them?
Who has the resources to draw something up?
Who has the resources to get em printed?
Anybody want to front for them, cause I cannot this year? Was around $200 last year for 200 stickers. But that was a one time deal. So we would need somewhere else to get em done.
Post up please.
Draw up something and post if you want too.
No repsonses = nothing done on this one.
Or logo up something and set it up on Cafepress.com? Shirts, Hoodies, Stickers.......
Let me know, PM me or email me at buzzron@gmail.com

I like the sticker and/or t-shirt/hoody idea. Since I have no graphic design programs on my computer, I have nothing to offer, but I am in full support of the idea. I'm sure someone can come up with a nice design for the stuff.

Dammit, can't find a pic of the sticker from last year, I think it is on my work puter.
I would take a pic and upload it, but I can't seem to get anything uploaded here.
I can get it Monday I guess.

No worries, I have a few of them myself. On Snowboard, Subaru, Beer Fridge, Nalgene Bottles, ...... Have 5 left I am holding onto for keepsakes.
Too lazy to get out the digi right now, got the pic on my puter at work, it can wait a day.
Funny, I got mine (and the 200 for the maggots) from him too. :D

I just sent a lenthy email to Otto (and invited him and the crew to the MINI)!!
Maybe he can do all the Summit Stickers??? One stop shop would be nice. We just gotta see if he can do them and then sell them to me for a buck a piece like the others have done in the past.
Will advise once we talk shop.
Now who has the money to chip in for the upfront bulk buy of the stickers? Or pre order how many you want to me to get the money together?
Let me know if you can help. Post, PM me or email (in profile).
Thanks all.

You tell me what to do.
No reponse from Otto.

From back in my punk rock days, I know that stickerguy.com is a good cheap way to go. Unfortunately, if you want color, the quantities jump up, but you can get 250 3.5" circles in B&W for $51 postage paid!
If you guys want full color, the digital stickers at www.123stickers.com look good, 125 2"x2" stickers for $70. No word on circles though, you have to contact them for quotes on that and for multi-color vinyl stickers.
You also might want to check out www.websticker.com. No prices on the site, but seems like a good place, and looks like they made some Line and Salomon stickers.

I dig the design Sprite, espcially the one with the snowflake. I'm not too huge a fan of the colors, but can't think of anything better at the moment. Maybe post a thread with a link to the image in the main forum so that we get more than 15 people lookin at this thing.

Really like the design Sprite. Darkening the blue might help give contrast to the mountains and skier? The snowflake is a nice touch. Like the circle design of the first one better than the square of the second.

Add Powder Maggots as well like last years under the PM.

As others have said, I like the snowflake, the circular style better than a square, and it needs a more contrasting background color. Something Like Dark Orange, maybe? I don't think their have been any made in that color. I would leave the lettering in the black "moon" white though. That would still leave you with a 3-color design wouldn't it?

I'll go against the grain and vote blue. Always thought of blue as more of a winter color.
At the same time...orange stands out better and is more noticeable...hmmmm.
They both look great, don't care what color it is, so long as I can get one.

Orange.
More importantly,
How are we gonna get them made up?
Glademaster, please no polls, just do blue instead or whoever fronts the money gets to pick. Polls are just way to Gapic.
Edit: Besides the orange matches all the huntin' overhauls that I always ski in.

I think we have a winner! I like the orange a lot. There was a blue one for the first Summit, we should not copy that huge page in history IMO.
Now, we gotta get these done asap and find a good place to get them done, to withstand the snow.
Xboat, hey, no worries, you did great last time, we all loved em!! Thanks a ton.
Who wants to front for them???? That is the big question. I can try to chip in.

I was thinking the same thing. Does the white space count as a color? Even without counting the white (and by turning the snow caps on the mtns white) that's still a 4 color design. Black, Orange, Lt. Brown, Even Lighter Brown, and white. Isn't 4 color technology harder to come by (and thusly a lot more expensive) than 3 color? Or is it? I don't know, just throwing out some food for thought. I'm having a hard time envisioning it without the 2 shades of brown, unless you went with completely white mtns and a black PM. And the black PM is kinda keeping with tradition. Now, can somebody figure all that out and make a design from it?
Just a stream of consciousness post, sorry for the rambling.

I dig the snowflake, make it white, make the PM and tgr web tag black and skier the same brown, white mtns. (summarizing TeleDave)
If you build it, they will come. :)
Thanks for the desing work, you may make Maggot history!!! :D
edit: my 2 cents, not telling you what to do
jibij
11-18-2004, 08:04 PM
Sprite,
You could make the skier black, mountains and sun white and snowflake white. Then all you've got is black and orange, The sticker white doesn't count, so you're at 2 colors.
Also... make the drop shadow a flat black or eliminate it. Otherwise you've got a gradient.
Again... nice work.
edit: Many printers will want the file in vector format. .eps or .ai
It looks like your graphic is probably a raster image. May or may not be an issue with the printers.

11-18-2004, 08:57 PM
Okay...I left the psd at work so I will do those changes tomorrow.
I am not sure what all that formatting stuff means. So if I provide just a .psd file with all the layers--is there someone who can do all that crazy stuff to make it print shop friendly?
Tanks!

If you print 2 colors on white vinyl, it'll be cheaper than 3. Just black and orange and the white as "blank" areas. That's how we did the white on the first two summit stickers.
The grey backdrop on "powder maggot summit" might have to be dropped though, unless you do a 3 color process or whatever.

A couple of late questions:
1) Since last seasons UT Mini was Summit '04; should this one be changed to say UT Mini '04/05?
2) Should the Utah Mini 2004 be changed from white outline to white block lettering?
Any input appreciated, this thing is being fine tuned and should get out to print in the next couple of days. (I hope!)
Edit: Snowsprite, clean your box! (Please.) and drop me an e-mail at teledave at gmail dot com so I can send you some more info.

Artwork for the stickers has now been finalized, order has been placed and stickers should be going into production on Monday. They will be on sale at the GMD party and throughout the weekend of the UT Mini for $1 each ( and it would really help me out if everyone attending bought at least 2, don't worry about running short if you want more we'll have plenty). Any and all proceeds above the purchase cost will go the JH Maggot Summit Scholarship Fund.
Lastly everyone that gets a sticker needs to buy Snowsprite and Jibij a beer because without their efforts over the last 2 days the stickers would not be happening. These two maggots made it happen when the timeline was getting slim.
