As I write, AG is in surgery getting a new ACL. With all this new snow and prospects of the year starting off early and with a bang, it's been kinda hard to be super stoked in our house. Hopefully the doctor finds some kind of miracle and doesn't have to replace anything (but the have a graft on hand just in case). Worse case, Altagirl has taken a HUGE hit for the team and this year could be epic. Fingers are crossed, I'll post later once I hear from the doctor.

She's up and talking and hopfully can come home tongiht. I'm on my way back over to the hospital now, thanks for all the good wishes. I'm sure once the drugs wear off she will give a blow-by-blow account.

First time I ever met C was at Snowbasin, a long time ago - first summit I think. She went FLYING over this rollover and went bigger than anyone. Unfortunately she ate it bigger than anyone as well. Up she sprang and kept skiing hard all day.

I remember thinking what an incridible skier, and girl this was. Nothing can keep her down.

All the best in the world Altagirl!

Good luck, AG - You'll get the best treatment I'm sure, but - don't rush your rehab...Despite how you might feel at the moment, you'll be back strong. I believe I rushed things too quick (too many) years ago & I'm afraid I may be in for another major fix soon...The healing will happen - don't get frustrated with the timetable...Good luck! :)

Hey C,

I know if it is humanly possible to heal fast and be back at it soon, YOU WILL DO IT!!

I heard that you guys were thinking about buying some super sleds this winter. :D I bet you could ride without stressing your knee. Just don't get the sled stuck. ;)

You guys rock.

And Woodsy - you did make me cry with that. Damn I love you guys.

Good to have step 1 complete so I can get on with the healing. They definitely have my anesthesia dialed... I woke up feeling good, happy and babbling to my nurse about skiing and riding, not in much pain at all, and got out of there without having to spend the night despite the afternoon surgery time. So that's good. I think my hands hurt more than my knee does with the ice machine kicking right now. The nurse complimented my nice veins and then managed to require 4 tries to get the IV in. And I have a deep aversion to needles, so that was really fun... But hey, if that's the worst thing I have to deal with, it's alright.

I was up and feeling good and watching some BMX dirt jumping thing on TV when Mr. AG showed up with white chocolate macadamia cookies (instead of the Ben and Jerrys). Damn did they taste good. Mmmm....

I was able to do a straight leg raise and move my leg around no problem when I got up to go to the bathroom, and didn't have any head rush or massive searing pain when I stood up either. Phew. Nurse was pretty shocked. I guess there's something to this whole weightlifting and eating healthy deal... More motivation to stick with it.

Anyway, thank you all so much for the positive thoughts and great memories! On to rehab...
