I surfed with a grey whale the other day

Yep, and I got paid while I was at it! Bluebird, crystal clear water, warm air, birds, a whale, and super rad consistent 18-24 inch glass! OK, so it was a bit small, but I haven't been able to get out in two months so it was fine by me! Since it was so small I decided to go leashless and try some switch-stance (I suck) and fins-first (watch your nose when the fins hook up :eek: ) and other fun stuff I wouldn't have done if it was bigger.

Oh yeah, my job is looking for whales, so anytime I'm looking at water I get paid. Since I saw the whale from my surfboard... cha-ching! :cool:
This was not at La Push, where the fog rolled in right as I got there and there was heinous shorepound that claimed an Al Merrick. I love WA.

How do you think this recent oil spill is going to effect the Orcas?

dunno about the oil spill, but the whales showed up yesterday and L27 had a new calf. she's 0 for 4 so far (as in all of her previous offspring have died) so hopefully this one will make it.

Oh, the waves were flat but the grey was back yesterday. This morning Ebey and Invisibles were firing!!!! Alas, I was on shore. Tomorrow.....
