This is my go to day pack for splitboarding.
It compresses into a super slim fit when
you're ready to go down, and is about the
perfect size for all the necessaries on the
way up.
I've been using the Silo 30 for most of my day trips the past two seasons and like it a lot.

The carry system is made to carry a snowboard diagonally and won't go small enough to hold narrow skis securely - I took the straps off and removed the padding, then re-attached them so my 73mm wide Trabs wouldn't slip.

The shoulder strap attachment is quite narrow at the bottom, which makes putting the pack on and taking it off a bit difficult with several layers on.

I ended up adding a quick-carry loop and elastic clip (ala the Dynafit Manaslu pack) so there's no need to take the pack off to switch to boot-up mode:

Arc'teryx makes very comfortable packs and the silo 30 skis and hikes well. My only issue is that the 30 was a little small if you are going on a big tour and need to bring some extra stuff it would also have been nice if this and the 40 each had daisy chains on the outside of the pack.
