A good friend of mine got me a pro deal on a pair of Czars. I was looking at other skis for the upcoming season and Czars weren't really on my radar for whatever reason, but after reading reviews of both the 2009 and 2010 versions I decided to pull the trigger.
The only thing that I'm a bit disappointed about is the fact that the 190's were sold out, but I couldn't pass up brand spanking new skis for this cheap.
I'm 5'11 165lbs... very aggressive ex-racer ski style. Is the 182 gonna be beefy enough? Normally I don't think it would be an issue but this is my first rockered ski so I'm a little concerned.
Edit: Should also mention I live in Aspen so I won't be skiing east coast ice or anything like that. Probably will put a pair of Dukes on em for occasional skinning but they'll primarily be a resort (Aspen Highlands) ski.

I think Cody Townsend skied 182s for most of last year, he is like 6'8" or something.
That is sweet you got them on pro deal, glad you mentioned that little back-story.
Also, put dukes on them; even if you aren't going to be touring, it's Aspen!

That size will be fine for you. I'm taller and fatter and they were good for me. Only time I didn't really like them was in fresh, deep, heavy snow. Like a PNW dump where it just doesn't quite get cold enough. Especially when you mount forward, just not enough mass in the tips to keep them up in that heavy ass shit. In light powder they are really fun.
Glad to see people are still abusing Salomonhookup.com. I wish I still got that deal, stupid cheap.

Unless you really care about is skiing backward and spinning in the air, I thought they skied way better mounted back for exactly the reason cited above. There's nothing stupider than a fat ski that you have to lean back on to float the tips.
It'll feel weird at first, and skis like a base-high rental ski on hard snow, but you can destroy soft snow with minimal effort. Don't drive them like a burly ski, just stand up, point 'em and pivot. It is a playful and easy ski, but it's also full of metal and damp.

...but it's also full of metal and damp.

You will wake up every morning wishing you could have got the 190s... what? I gotta be honest... and everyone knows the longer your skis, the better you are at life.

I've only demoed them for one day but I loved them. I'm bigger than you, 6'1 190, but had no problems with the length. The day I had was nice soft everywhere, fluffy up high and heavy and wet lower on the mountain. Loved them in all those conditions. I thought they floated and worked really well in conditions my friends were all struggling with. Really easy and fun ski.

Just my take after skiing on them.
I'm a bit smaller than you are 155lbs, 5'9" and I've got a pair of 182's mounted on the line. I think you'll be happy with them. They are remarkably stable at speed, even in choppy and/or variable snow. The one issue you may run into (as someone else mentioned) is that they won't float as well as a bigger ski, particularly in deep, heavy snow unless you get enough speed up.
In case anyone thinks my opinion is due to a bias towards short skis, I also own 194XXL's, 200 dps 120's, 196 Lhasa Pow's and 194 solly Rockers.

quite the quiver there guy.
Jay Monkey - If you are worried about the length, see if there are maggots interested in trading their 190s or the larger model for yours.
