Yes, I'll be keeping them, as I'm not sure I'm keeping the gotama/duke combo (no they are not for sale).

Your binding hoard is like the plot of some James Bond movie where the evil doers try to wreck the world binding economy.
If I were you, I'd probably go with a young Sean Connery to play yourself.

These are mine as well as my brother's. Missing a couple pair, but that is most of them.

I realized a couple pair are somebody elses: 189 Made'ns, 186 Pollards and 184 Scratch BC.
Missing are 161 1080s, 180 Dynastar Candide pro, 160 K2 Slalom (woop woop)... oh yeah, I think some snowblades are in the closet.

Hop, you make me feel infinitely better.
Raps, thanks, but...nice looking, and useless.
I'm not a 100 day skier, so over time I'm not breaking and beating skis as fast as I'm buying.
Haven't figured out quite what to ditch yet.
Bloom, regarding the Goats, noted, and here's the thinking:
-The R.EXs will stay, mountaineering/light.
-The mounted Goats will stay, they're my everyday board, and I love them.
-The DP 120s will stay, but I will swap some Dukes for the 916s if the Dukes prove out.
-Assuming that happens, I won't tour on the Helidaddies, cause I'll want to tour always on the 120s.
So, the Helidaddies could potentially go or get stashed somewhere I travel to with some frequency where it's a royal pain to get skis (e.g. Argentina)
-The Big Daddies are redundant, but I got them for so damn cheap that I'm on the fence there. They really should go though.
Price would be $500 min with the plate and p14s included. They are basically mint still.
-The white Goats were picked up for a friend who received 183s through a pro-deal, but wanted 190cm.
If he can get that corrected himself, then these would get sold. Price would be $500 min.
-The other black Goats were picked up because I like the Goats so damn much. But with all the other toys, they exist only as backup. So, they could go.
Again, $500 min when the time comes (couple months or so, I'll post a seperate thread in Gear Swap, don't worry).
-The Teledaddys are about the only ski that are pretty worked. They'll either get sold, or get remounted with the 916s and used as a rock ski.
-The Janaks will replace the Teledaddys as a tele ski.
So...at the most, White Goats, Black Goats, Teledaddies, Big Daddies, Heli Daddies will go.
Leaving me with R.EXs (84mm/Dynafit), Janaks (99mm/Tele), Goats (105mm/Alpine), DPs (120mm/Duke), Praxis (136mm/Alpine).
That "ought" to be more than enough to keep me busy.

If that happens, I won't tour on the Helidaddies, cause I'll want to tour always on the 120s. So, the Helidaddies could potentially go, or, better yet, get stashed somewhere I travel to (Argentina, UT, CA) with some frequency as a quiver of one, where it's a pain to fly with them (thinking Argentina right now!).
The Big Daddies are also pretty redundant with the Gots, DPs, and Praxis.
So, they should really go. But it's such a sweet ski, and I got it for SO cheap. Might be worth keeping around just to ski early season rocks. On the fence there.
The White Goats were picked up for a friend who received 183s through a pro-deal, but wanted 190cm. If he can get that corrected himself, then these could get sold to my brother who is moving to CA or to someone here. Price would be around $500.
The Black Goats were picked up because I like the Goats so damn much. I figured I want another pair eventually. Except, with this many other skis, I don't really think that's reasonable any more. Better to have more fun with fewer boards. So, they might go. Again, $500 min when the time comes (couple months or so, I'll post a seperate thread in Gear Swap, don't worry). Or, I could stash them somewhere else I go frequently that's harder to get to, like my brother's place in CA.
The Teledaddys are about the only ski that's pretty worked. They'll either get sold, or get remounted with Sollys and used as rock ski.
The Janaks will replace the Teledaddys as a tele ski.
So...
At the most, White Goats, Black Goats, Teledaddies, Big Daddies will go.

For me? Not much. Honestly, at my weight and given how awesome skis w/ rocker are I don't see them getting a whole lot of use.
Others, like the Professor, might prefer a big 122-waisted "normal" ski (although he'd still whine about the twin).
Prof, if I make it to UT this year you're welcome to take them for a spin. :)

I live in Montreal so Im pretty much forced to jib it up all winter long but I often go on summer skiing trips and Im moving back to BC permanently in 8 months. Actually, I just came back from a 3 week ski trip all over Chile yesterday. Ill post a thread with my best pictures soon. At my local ski hill, Mont Avila, which is pretty much one big snow park, I rock my huge sticks on the yearly gaper/old school fashion day (yes, we got those over here too!) and everybody looks at me like Im a freaking mutant with my 110mm+ waisted skis, I love it. Side flipping with 190cm skis off the 60foot tabletop feels so good. Rock on biatches!!....

Thanks
I skied on the SS last year. Serious skis that require serious input. At slow speeds or in bumps or other crowded places, they handle like a dump truck in a parking garage. But with speed, decent snow and some space, they totally come alive. Absolutely fantastic on steeps. Good in powder, provided you like skiing in the snow rather than smearing - they're too skinny for that. They'll make you a faster, better skier; or they'll kick your butt, and you'll be selling them by Christmas.

How do you like your 193 EHPs?
I love them. Im no the biggest guy (5'11/180lbs) and they perform so well in powder and in pretty much any conditions: crud and the harder stuff too. I adore the combination of a soft-flexy tip, stiff underfoot and tail, straight-ish shape and the fact they are pretty damn light for their mega fat size. The soft tips eat up everything without making you feel it. Its flexyness sorta absorbs the bumps in the road instead of your legs doing it, a fucking great idea! Skiing fresh and tracked pow-pow has never been so easy and effortless for me. The only thing you cant do with these is carve, damn near impossible. It will hold an edge in any condition cause of its stiff underfoot and tail but its shape doe not permit any sort of carving whatsoever which means you have to pivot them to turn. Thats fine for me, their light, I avoid groomers, usually go as straight as possible and I learned to ski pow on 190explosives so this is a major upgrade. Get them, they may look hard to ski but in pow, they are effortless!!!!

Thanks man. I'm undecided between either the EHPs or a pair of Sanouks for a pow day ski. The Moment Melees sound pretty sweet too, although I don't know anything about symmetrical designs.
The EHPs really intrigue me though mostly for the traits you mentioned. That soft long rise tip will plane easily with no tip dive, and the stiffer tail give a nice landing platform I imagine.

HUGE difference between these skis. Go with sanouks if you want to ski powder in a fairly mellow fashion; they are very very soft. EHPs if you want to charge.

I know that the Sanouk is super soft, I just haven't decided which flex I want to go with. In an ideal world I would like to demo both but I highly doubt that will happen.
Do you still have your Sanouks? If I remember correctly, you like them quite a bit right?

I love them. As was said they are maybe not the most nimble when going slowly but as the speed builds they start really responding. I use it mostly at my local resorts, which have limited off-piste potential but wide, icy and steep groomed runs. It acts like a wide racing ski, all the ice grip and stability at speed that you need. It's good off-pist as well but since I got the Sanouks I haven't really used them on any big powder days. However the little I have tried them they did alright considering their narrowness. And as the conditions get worse they get better

You can work the the Stockli SS down anything. If you stay on top of them, they do as they are told. And they hold an edge like a racing ski. But if trees and technical lines are your everyday thing, I would probably look elsewhere. Maybe the Head iM88? Even the Dynastar Legend Pro, which is suprisingly easy to turn.

been waiting to throw this up here, now that's it's complete
my first actual quiver! couldn't ski last season and worked 70+ hours a week for over a year and thought i deserved more than one new pair of sticks (although i probably don't need excuses for jackshit seeing some of you guys' setups). 4frnt's have pretty much been my only ski since 03, they're beat to hell and just not enough ski for deep days, so they've been retired to rock/rail status.
been drooling over the got's (w/916's) non stop, plan on being on those on days when i ride with other skiers and when i actually want to do more serious stuff, line's (914's) will be for when i ride with my friends (they all snowboard) and just want to dick around.

Here is my current one. It's been upgraded from one Pair to Three!
Big daddies 03/04 missing a piece of edge and finally found their way into their Rock Ski existence after 100 days and 4 seasons. 10-18 atomics on them.
New for this season:
Rossi Squads 194 with Salomon S920s. a manly setup for charging
And my first real touring setup:
Pale TTX 66, 191 (same dimensions as a head im103 but much more mellow flex and twin. Pale ususally only produces Skis for other Companies and does not brag with having skis of their own. extremely cheap, but really good for that price. you can get them for 199 euros at the factory!) with a Naxo NX21. Used but still in great condition and for 170 euros i couldn't say no to this setup as the binding alone normally is at least 219 euros .
does anyone have a REAL fat/reverse/fun shape ski for sub 200 euros? ;) my quiver would be complete then.
edit: and yes, that is wolverine ;)

Man, flicking through the first few pages of this thead... there's some crazy stuff back there! I'd love to play around on some of the earlier technology exhibited...
And I must say - I'm just a tad jealous of the people who can split their quiver into different -types- of wide-assed ski... wish I had the freedom of finance to play that game ;)
My quiver at late-middle of 06/07 season...
http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v103/206/32/562350502/n562350502_846342_1504.jpg
The only changes now are the spats turned into 'toons, the Pocket Rockets got stolen (I'll find the bastard one day... then break his legs), the 1080s got left behind.
So now I'm just 'toons and Screams - looking to buy either a jib ski this winter, or a full-on carver charger.

Anyway, here is my sad little quiver. At the same time last year, I just had the lines and the ANTs. The year before that just Lines. And that concludes my years of skiing, minus a few gaper days. For being sixteen years old, Im pretty happy with this quiver, but there will be many, many changes.
http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa218/FREESKIER_FIVE-0/DSC01389.jpg
165 Atomic Powder Pluses. For sale. PM me if you want 'em.
167 Line chronics. Bought these when I was 13 or 14. Line binders. Drilled once for markers. These are for friends and whatnot. Sale pending, I hope.
176 Armada AR5- Hardpack, slush, summer, and park/rail/rock skis. solly s810s. I could be talked into selling them.
180 pow plus with markers.
Armada ANTs- Everyday ski. Beat to death. Ill prolly replace them. They had Axial2 120s on them, but I will mount Dukes on them if they don't go.
So now I need my fun shape, a replacement for my ANTs (hopefully Moment M1s), and a midfat.

Go fuck yourself gary. On what grounds do you make this assumption? I work 45-50 hours a week all summer so I can buy skis, ski gear, and go on trips. I cut back on smoking, drinking, I have been out to eat once this semester. I drink natty ice and plastic handle vodka religously because its the most drunk for the money. All so I can buy the stuff that makes ski season more enjoyable. I make less than 10 an hour and sice last january I have gotten the Dukes, praxis, 916's, zrs's, LP's, XXX's, 997's, bluehouses, CMH's, and NX21's and much much more climbing and ski gear. I honestly don't care about anything else. Its hard work, and the generosity and good will of the people on this board that has helped me get such a good quiver. So anyways fuck off JONG.

I had the atomics because those were the last skis my parents bought for me, 3 years ago I think. Since then my skiing has changed a lot, though they are fun skis, I wanted something bigger.
I spent the last year working because I was going to buy a car and my parents told me I would have to pay for insurance too. Since then I've decided for lots of reasons that I don't really need a car right now, so I had some extra money.
I tried my friends 189 squads several times this year as well as some other skis and I liked them. I wanted to buy something about that long, and I saw the 103s for $300 with binding with almost no damage, just a few minor chips and no base damage. So I bought them. I'm sure they'll kick my ass, but its an experiment, if I can't ski them after all, I have two friend who said they will buy them for $250 after I decide. So I'm going to try it.
I agree though, it makes no real sense to go from the atomics to these.
At least I have no quiver overlap.:rolleyes2

I did something very much alike that of what Abraham did. 167 Chronics to ANTs. But it was worth it. However, I don't know if Abraham's choice will work out as well.
ants are in a totally different leauge than im103s. plus ants ski more like a 180 and 167 chrons aren't exactly 150cm carving skis. With out knowing anything about the poster I would say if he is not rediculously absurdly completely and totally overpowering those 150s he will not be able to work the 103s. However I have not seen him ski and he maybe completely capable of skiing the shit out of those heads, god knows I'm probably not the first person who should be making fun of some kid for having too burly skis;) .
On another note, I happen to live fairly close to him, w/ his permission of course, I would happily ski with him on his first day on his new skis, and report back to the maggots on who is doing the skiing and who is being skied.

oh, and stop throwing stones from your glass house, jerkoffnewbiegaper

Cut and pasted PM he sent me when i asked about on3p's.
Hey man
for now it has started as a homebuilder project for my friends and myself. I have planned to sell them some skis, and possibly more, depending on how thigns go.
About the skis, 3 shapes right now.
191 cm 141/113/128
186 cm 132/105/120
186 cm 145/115/138
Eventually something like the ARG, something fatter (130 waist) and something skiing (90mm waist).
Skis are going to be 4001 2.1mm race base, PBT topsheets, bamboo cores and sidewalls, tri-axial glass, some carbon in certain ones.
There are a few graphics floating around as well. Let me know and I can send you some more pics.
Other than that, just trucking along right now. it has been a huge pain in the ass. let me know if you have any questions.
Scott
Hey
I am going to make multiple molds, so I can make any ski with multiple cambers. going to do a normal camber of 1cm, normal camber of .5cm, reverse camber in just the tips (25cm long, ~2cm rise), and one in both tips and tail.
Here are the two topsheets I am getting printed up. There are 3 more done, and this summer I am hav ing the kid who made these do some more like this + some different stuff that will be simpler and such.
Later
scott
Damn cool project thats for sure. I'd be keen to hear from Scott to see how the project is shaping up. Any pics?
Test presses are still underway, so as far as I know, no full skis as of yet. I am very anxious to get my 191s though. And when I do, the full quiver pic will be up.

Big ones on the end are Zag Freeride Gold 201s with Tyrolia Railflex. Thinking about selling them as my adventures on them to date have indicated I may not be man enough.
The extra boots are for the kids as they grow, and a couple they've probably outgrown. I didn't ever realize this before I became a parent of skiers, but the hand-me-down-thing is not as simple as it appears and I often find I need multiple items in similar sizes for different kids simultaneously. The kids also get bigger every day so when I see some nice boots at a good price in smaller sizes I grab 'em. Goodwill been very very good to me!

Oftpiste - good to see my old Lekis there in that pole lineup!
That is quite a family quiver for sure!
Glad you spotted them! They'll probably see action next season. We'll carry on your tradition.
any inbounds skiing for you?
when it snows a lot or when I am skiing with my kids (age 4 & 6) and then, really, I could be on anything.

Seriously. Now imagine what it's like with twins. At least I'm lucky enough that one of the twins is about 3-4" taller and 1-2 shoe sizes larger than the other, but the bigger one is closing in on his big sister.

I feel for you. They also need different style stuff like boots. My 9 yr old - who's extremely strong and an aggressive skier and racer will get the stiff kids boots - while his 12 yr old brother likes the park and is lighter and not as much of a charger so he'll get the softer ones. And their feet are almost the same sizes.
It's incredible what you can find at the Goodwill for virtually no money. People donate some reaally cools stuff. Thank goodness!

AD is the master of the maggot bro deal! His quiver investment for the entire family is less than what some people pay for a full set of gear, with maybe 2 skis. SAC and maggot swap karma are great things.

He is indeed and has given me some great tips on shopping for kids stuff nationwide. The K2 Juvy's in the pic came from a Rochester NY craigslist posting (a screamin' deal) after AD helped me refine and focus my search techniques.
I probably should buy him a beer or three.

Which pair...the HEADS havent seen snow yet....everything else is skied...in fact the dynamics (unmounted) are like at least through the hands of 2 others...the Dynastars are a web purchase as well so at least 2nd owner...

No actually I think we mounted them +2cm the line looked REALLY back..
I was thinking they might be a little big, but im going to give it a shot, i dont charge really hard and have had good luck so far with the naxos (as you can see) so only time will tell.. I was actually just fondling them last night and feeling that weight....I got a buddy who rocks daimirs (not the burliest ones either) on big old movement goliaths and he seems to be ok. Those naxos go to a higher din....again we'll see I guess. :-)
Good thought though.

It helps to actually mount your skis with bindings. Ductaping your feet to skis is so yesterday..........
I'm still working on the binding thing, I've been snowboarding for a long time and decided to switch back to skiing this year. Last time I was on skis they were straight 215s, so I have some learning to do. Got both those pairs of skis for less than $500 total... Now i need to find cheap binders!

dunno yet as I just got them a couple weeks ago. I'm expecting for them to ski fairly similar to my Priors but with a bit more float in the deeper snow. I scored a sweet deal which is basically the only reason I got em.

I also have a pair of last years Watea 101's and love them at W/B. They are more than Versatile enough. They hand flex soft, in the tip and tail but have more than enough stiffness under foot. No issues charging any line on the mountains. Lots of float, amazing edge hold and a flex pattern that seems perfect for me (6ft 175lbs). I need another set so I have one pair mounted alpine and one touring.
Thanks Shirk. Sounds like: Watea + Dukes = :)

Nice Gyrators!
Here's my pretty basic quiver:
186 Fischer Misfits w/Solly 957 - lazy days/skiing around with non-skier or average ability buddies
187 Ninthward THA w/Solly 900 - everyday
186 Praxis Powder Boards w/914 (from one of last year's first batches) - big days
Rossi boots with Power Wraps still to be molded.
The Fischer and Ninthward binders still need some "finishing touches", but otherwise set for the year. Thinking of maybe trading the Misfits for more of a go fast groomer ski, i.e. Monster 88s or similar, but not sure yet. Though, I'm not completely sold on Praxis yet either, might want to get something superfat traditional like a Thug instead, will have to ski them some more first.

we have a problem
who is this 'we' you speak of? I have a normal sized quiver. YOU on the other had have somehow managed to collect 17 pairs of skis...
not that there is anything wrong with that, its just that my boots are too big to fit in most of their bindings...
on another note, i do not see a problem here at all :D

i think your younger, shorter brother is compensating for something. earlier this fall he was talking about buying a big f250 turbo diesel....
